No I don’t but just go to Volvo Norwood and they usually have the most competitive prices on Volvo in MA
Nope, in Hangzhou, China
I got offered 494 all in with 1500 down for a 70k S90 inscription and they pay balance of my 4 months bmw 535 lease(conquest program). Didnt buy the car as it doesnt drive well for me. Absolutely no comparison with the bimmer. No idea why its priced 70k!!!
Which dealer are you talking to?
Does the conquest program already included?
Thanks,
So you didn’t even test drive it before spending time on negotiating the deal?
I spent 2 minutes “negotiating” and it was all by emails!! He gave me a straight up price. I liked the price, so drove the car to try it out and then possibly start real negotiations. They are very aggressive on the 2017 S90s now.
I see. In any case, you don’t need to drive a Volvo to figure out that it drives nowhere near BMW.
Yea! I fell in trap by believing a friends word for his newly leased XC90. He said it drives “better” than a bimmer X5!! So decided to give it a shot and wasted my time. Now am back jumping from 1 bimmer dealer to another to find a good lease. Planning to call a car broker to see if he can find me a good deal on a bimmer. their lease programs suck now!!
I would say my 2016 Volvo S60 CC drives very well compared with my previous 5 series 3.0 V6…

Obviously, if you’re looking to drive something different than what everyone else chooses in this class, the Volvo S90 is a terrific choice from a styling and design perspective. But is it a terrific choice for a driver?
I’ll say this: The S90 T6 is quick.
It’s got a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine boasting both turbocharging and supercharging, and it makes 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The engine note sounds somewhat coarse and unrefined, a distinct step down from the way BMW and Mercedes-Benz tune their 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engines, but the S90 T6 isn’t lacking for power.
An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard, shifting perfectly and delivering the power to each corner of the car for exceptionally sure-footed, all-wheel-driven acceleration. The S90 lacks paddle shifters, but if the driver places the car in Sport mode and uses the manual gate with its intuitive shift pattern, the S90 does a good impression of a sports sedan.
Volvo claims that 60 mph arrives in 5.7 seconds, and by the seat of my pants, that seems credible. Plus, I got 22.3 mpg on my test loop. That’s short of the official EPA estimate of 25 mpg, but I had to modify my route due to weather and road conditions, adding more uphill driving than usual. During a full week of driving, the car returned 24.2 mpg.
Oh, and here’s something you wouldn’t expect: The S90 T6 can tow up to 4,600 pounds.
LOL - that’s all you need to know. YOu can tow with the Volvo …
BMW - Sassy german that looks expensive and good but won’t do any chores
Volvo - Frumpy swede with meat on the bones that will chop wood in winter.
You choose …
you S"60" drives better than a 5 series? am assuming you mean s"90". Either ways, its earth and sky when it comes to driving. Am not saying this because I drive a bimmer, but volvo acceleration is outright SLOW!! Comparing it to the new 530 which is a 2L engine, BMW accelerates like a breeze where as there is lot of resistance from the S90. S90 is a beautiful car and exceptional interiors(so is the new 5 series), but drive is a huge let down! its definitely not worth the “luxury car price tag”.
I would buy a dodge ram if had to TOW stuff, not a swede that can “also” tow
You are talking to someone who owns an S60, A RAM 1500 and recently had a BMW 5 series, so not talking about hypotheticals here my friend
i guess perspectives differ
@rocky1983 What state are you in? Dealer info?
Sent you a PM…
Are you making a case for Volvo? For me? LOL
I just wanted more details than generic “drive well”. I compared the S60 with the 528i and it was apples to oranges but the driving dynamics seemed on par …
I do agree the Volvo S90 is no BMW, and the 70k price is hard to justify but …IMHO
Drive tech such as auto cruise control, blind spot, lane keep - S60
Acceleration, stopping, poise - S60
Comfort, space, infotainment - 528i
Price/performance, S60
Car and Driver
In a 2012 535i First Test review, we said that the car isn’t as enjoyable to drive as it used to be because of its 7 Series-based bones, making it heavier than before. As a result, the 5 Series is more comfort-oriented and more of a long distance cruiser with a quiet cabin and smooth ride.
C’mon, even my VW CC drove better than any of my Volvos. Granted, it had shitty seats. Not that Volvos drive badly, it’s just different
For same price, no doubt I would get BMW. But if we were talking 150-200 less per month for the S90, I would really consider the S90 …
