Maybe I will trade in my current XC60 for what would be my 9th Volvo!
Every LH’er will be interested if we can get it for $200/month ![]()
Unless it includes a substantial change (eg., physical buttons) to the UX, not really, TBH.
The ux is my biggest gripe on my XC40 recharge
If it has ride and cabin quality anything close to the EX90, I could see this being an appealing option.
I’ve only had the EX90 briefly, and I realize I’m in the minority in terms of amount of issues I’ve had, but the ride and cabin quality are amazing and I think the software, interface, UX is a vast improvement. Would it be my preference for some of the controls to be done outside of the touchscreen? Sure, but I got used to it after a few days, and the interface is super snappy, smooth, etc, unlike my 2024 XC90 PHEV.
Volvo needs to get it’s act together with things like GHCA failures, providing owners with certainly regarding Lidar supplier, etc, but they did a lot right (with very poor execution)
Did they outsource the QC?
Hope they learn from the EX90 foibles and lower the cost significantly as well. I love how the EX90 drives, but $80K base is a non-starter for most folks who want something more blingy at that price.
Is this one going to actually work?
Is it still going to have the British cab bump above the windshield?
you talking about the Lidar sensor?
That is gone from the 2026s based on photos I saw on Reddit. Luminar seems like a nightmare of a supplier. Looks much better without it.
That being said, until they decide to reverse this whole “OMG WE ARE GOING TO BE ECO FRIENDLY AND NOT USE LEATHER” BS they keep doing, I will stick with my XC60 T8
Here’s hoping that dealers are ready to make some deals for the plug-in XC60’s

I don’t know what the material is on the EX90, but it feels as nice as leather.
It still feels inferior to me - not nearly as soft and clearly fake.
Likely worse for the environment as well versus the natural option (leather) that utilizes an animal byproduct.
I delivered a $74k ioniq9 yesterday. If hyundai can get away w charging that for a 3 row EV, volvo definitely can for a far superior EV. The problem w the ex was not price, it was reliability, software, and user experience. Same as the polestar 3, which it’s based on.
Hell, a nicely equipped x5 PHEV w no 3rd row is pushing $90k…also has a ton of software, drivetrain, engine issues.
The lidars are officially dead
400 total mile range with 10min fast charging adding 170 miles of range should be the EV standard.
I see this is the event the volvo dealership in Tampa area told me to mark on calendar for months ago… smh… I thought they were gonna have like 25% off pre rebates or something.
