UAW on strike starting tonight

Sorry, I get very excited when we all get together like this. We should meet and have it in real life, perhaps for lunch :grinning:

Or in a Thunderdome.

I’m not giving you any choices:) We are all adults and can me our own choices.
I’m just happy we are allowed in this country to actually have choices, unlike communism style uniformity.

Love the Austrian economics plug. The only brand of economics that makes any type of sense. Which is why it’s not taught in our universities

I’m not sure on that lately. PC police is very harsh these days going with “If you aren’t with us then you are by default with them”. Either socialist or fascist/racist. I don’t get that binary labeling.

Austrian theory leverages the one thing the others don’t…common sense.

The Austrian model is so great, it is not even practiced in Austria.

Because their government and banks have also been usurped.

Universal basic income for all!!! I can’t wait

Their banks enjoyed unrestricted capitalism when it was good times. In recession, suddenly it’s guverment, please help us, we are dying! Sounds very familiar.

Can’t rationalize with a commie or tyrants. That’s the beauty of the second ammendment

I wonder if that’s a future negotiating tactic of GM management?

LOL…you went from socialism to communism…straight from the republican play book. You are mixing 2 very different things.

To everyone that thinks they know what Bernie is all about watch him on the Joe Rogan podcast.

Hey its the Offramp, no need to apologize. These convos, while typical of those that usually follow a controversial topic on social media, reveal how some of us think. They are an (albeit jaded) view of the various sentiments that pervade society and offer insight into what other crackpots believe (I won’t say who the crackpots here are, but I’m pretty sure I might be one of ‘em).

I do like the idea of a meetup, not to duke it out but to have a quaff, share lease (and life) secrets, and put faces to names. Heck, maybe even a country drive.

Man if those banks were bailed was to save the world economy. Those banks paid back every cent from my understanding and many banks did not need TARP but were strong armed to do so by Paulson. In addition, nobody talks about Fannie and Freddie that were approving these loans that caused the crisis? How about Barnie Frank fighting Bush when he warned for the GSE capital and risks and need to curtail growth. He refused it and kept insisting they are safe. Plenty of blame to go around but to say its the banks fault only? You think our gov did not know?

That’s a new one. I completely missed those two fighting.

Man here is a simple Boston Globe piece about Barnie.

Not sure how old you are but Cspan has videos of Barnie stating that GSEs were safe. See that is the problem I jave with democrats. They will refuse to say one bad word for their deat leaders so that is why I refuse to believe any of the promises they make and whatever carrot they dangle as an incentive. Most republicans will admit when Bush is wrong for Iraq war and other stuff. Or Trump with the Taliban fiasco. We can be that open but democrats refuse to as they been conditioned to say nothing against dear leaders.
