What the hell happened to all the Bolt deals in the DFW area? I was told by one dealer that GMF doesn’t lease 2020 models (seemed like a lie but I’m new to lease hacking). Another dealer gave me:
MSRP: $43735
NSP: $39405
Incentives: $12250 (Lease cash, ccr, Costco)
Other: $1250
Residual: 47% ($20555)
And said they cant move from that number (Best offer I received so far out of 5 dealerships)
I know I’m new to the lease hacking community, but I did not think it would be this hard. I thought bringing NSP down a couple thousand would be easier than it really is, but dealers are being strict on a car they want to get rid of?
I’d PM this user see what dealer he used, otherwise just keep hitting up other dealers. Doesn’t seem like the kind of vehicle that would be popular in Tejas, keep grinding
Unless you are enjoying the hunt, I would actually take a look at the 2021’s. Apples to apples, the difference in price is about $350 this month. 2021’s are more plentiful, and dealers are willing to negotiate.
I absolutely hate the hunt. I had about three dealers today give me quotes each increasing in payments higher than the last. Do you think sub-200 is possible on a 21 model? I don’t mind what it comes with just don’t want to pay too much for it.
2020 inventory is slim pickings around here and the residual of 47% kills pretty much everything.
I only qualify for Lease cash, Costco and ccr (maxed out at 12250 combined for the premier model)
On the 2021 side,
Best deal I was quoted for $5000 lease cash, $1000 ccr and $3000 Costco at 51% residual.
MSRP: $42695
NSP: $38264
Incentives: $9000
Fees: $1200
Residual: $21774
Still a bit far away from getting to sub $200/mo but I have hope on the 21 since there are lots of dealers with them.
I am not sure how your fees and taxes are structured, but you can plug it into the calc below to get an idea of where you are at. The discount is not bad. May be able to push a small amount more. However, with only 9K in rebates, and uncapped fees, under $200 a month may be a stretch?
Use the calculator to figure out where you should be.
2020 took a huge dip in RV in April, incentives are actually slightly worse since you can’t double dip conquest any more. Even before April I wasn’t able to make a unicorn type of deal but LT @$4,000ish and Premier @$6,000 were attainable. The easiest I worked with was Huffiness Plano not sure if anything has changed since then.
Classic and Galleria don’t want to play ball at all. Back in 19 I had the most aggressive offer from Classic, and I still remember them clearing Chevy SS at 20% off across board, too bad they seem to have had gone a different direction or I just had the wrong sales
I tried both Classic and Galleria. Not much movement at either places. I’ll see what Huffines Plano can do with their 21 models. If anyone has any other dealerships willing to tango, please include them below. Thanks!
Your price isn’t terrible, but it’s the lower residual. The other big play on the lease in TX is getting tax credits. Normally you’re on the hook for full taxes on the selling price in TX. In March several dealers had tax credits to use on the Bolt making the tax rate 1.2%. See if they’ll do tax credits on either a 2020 or 2021 as that brings it down from around $2400 in tax to $500 in tax.
Search the outskirts of DFW as well, Galleria had inventory but wasn’t interested in playing ball.
Honestly, the best deals are done. The dealers who were willing to deal don’t have any cars left to deal on, or hit their targets. Best bet is to wait for the last few days of the month and have a game plan and price target.
I don’t think you need to worry about the Costco rebate being gone. It’s supply demand. If the cars aren’t moving, there will be some rebate. And some other car will be a hot deal if not the Bolt.
