Trying to understand the ins and outs of BMW incentives

Sorry if I sound dense, but with the new bmwcca rebate policy:

Does a new, non-registered DEMO with <1000 miles qualify for the bmwcca rebate?

yeah it would qualify. You can email BMWCCA and they can check for you.

I contacted BMWCCA and their response below was unclear. Can anyone shed some light?

“I emailed BMW NA to see if the vehicle would be eligible for a rebate, but I was informed that the vehicle is listed as retailed new to the dealership at this time. The dealership would need to retail the vehicle as new to you or Certified Pre Owned in order to be eligible. If the dealership is retailed as the first owner then the vehicle would be retailed used.”

It means the car is in loaner status, or being demo’d aka won’t qualify as “new” because it will be registered to the dealership first, and most likely pass 1,000 miles

I’m actually leasing the car this weekend, and confirmed it only has 800 miles. Will I qualify for the rebate?

If it’s a loaner, no. If it’s a demo, I believe so.
