We all headed straight to
@max_g do your thing bb
Great news. I’m currently speccing out my 2nd 992 - this one is an S. I will be trading in my C2 for it.
I’m very happy with this build: 911 Carrera S | Porsche Car Configurator
Just deciding if I should do the deviated seat centers in chalk or red.
Neither. But you should add the sport design side skirts and mirrors painted in exterior color.
Lots of numbers all over for P-cars on BaT, but I did not see this coming. Low miles, but a 997.1 S @ $71k with a PDK (first year for a PDK?). The color is outstanding as well and that gave it a boost.
Wow.
It’s a 997.2, FYI.
Ah yes, 2008/2009 refresh. A year off and still makes no difference as it is a crazy number for that car.
This is just wild to me , I’m sorry but a new m3/m4 will stomp all over this in basically all ways besides steering feel for nearly the same money. 911s are the standard but the pricing has just gotten ridiculous.
Paying 70k for this car is bonkers
Agreed 100%. Even if a new M3/M4 for $70k new would be a stretch, they are far ahead.
My wife drives an 2023 S5 cabriolet for the same-ish price (brand new), it is a 2023 and will do 0-60 in .3 or so seconds slower than the '09. The S5 of course is not a 911, and a 911 has a very special feel to it when it comes to performance and handling but to daily something like that '09 cab at that price would make zero sense.
Even as a garage queen or weekend warrior the price is nuts.
This is pure insanity. I know we’ve touched on this before but at this rate I’m never going to find a reasonably priced 991.2 or 991.2 even a base Carrera for a price that I’d like to pay. I feel like we’re going to start seeing 5 year old used 991 base’s with 30k miles go for original MSRP.
911 are the new rolexes. From normal luxury to unobtanium. Except for mine of course, I’m just a Pooooorche boy lol
They also look ancient inside… imagine the cockpit in the first performance-oriented Conestoga wagon.
You will get one eventually. 991’s are one of the most mass produced 911 generations, over the long run they aren’t going to hold their value like past models.
F*ck the new G8x, butt ugly behemoths. I would take a low mileage cream puff 997.2 all day long over a new M4. It isn’t about paper stats, there are intangibles involved. 997 is the last proper sized 911 built. Well documented examples are going to continue to climb in value.
You mean it doesn’t have a 42" widescreen tv attached to the dashboard. Moden day interiors are disgusting.
Not just paper stats, performance wise , reliability wise, gas mileage , drivability. Obviously I’d rather have a new 911 than a new m4 but a 15 year old 911? You can have your dinosaur
I also laugh at the person buying this thing for 70k and then the motor dies and they have a 5 figure repair awaiting them
Not exactly what I meant.
I also don’t want to drive around in a bordello that’s festooned with 400 linear feet of purple LED strips, and/or that hippo screen in the gawdawful EQS…
But I’m also not willing to risk getting a sliver from wooden radio buttons.
Look at the M240i vs the 15 year old 911. It’s pretty much better in everyway except the badge.
Put down the crack pipe. That is coming from a BMW diehard, that has owned every M3/M4 model besides the E30.
