@Mark.ca said exactly what he said. That is the 35k option was not built first, so it’s a technicality when you and others say:
when the car comes out
It’s because they sold the higher models of the 3 first. So everyone thinking I’m getting that car as my 35k car, then thinks what you say:
How many features on their cars have they charged people for for what’s coming, delivered vehicles, and then came back and said “just kidding, to get that, you need to pay more”.
It’s a process and it simply took time, but they got there. Now you’re saying there’s a history, when that’s not the case. It’s a history of selling higher priced options first.
Ok, i see what you mean. They formed that reputation early on with the S in 2012…if i remember correctly they increase the price on the fist deliveries…$6k was it? I bet you didn’t know that. Thing is people keep repeating this for the Model 3 which is confusing since they actually cleaned up by that time. Advice to you, don’t believe everything you hear on TWTR…do your own research and don’t be a sheep.
Rivian doesn’t even actually have a truck. They have a prototype. They keep saying they’ve been in business for 10 years and have 1000 employees but they’ve never actually built… Anything. I highly doubt they will. People seem to forget manufacturing and selling cars is very difficult and expensive.
How on earth is this tesla cyber truck going to pass crash tests? And if it does, I sure wouldn’t want to insure one. One small fender bender and you gotta replace the whole panel!
So is Tesla. This truck will have to change a bit in order to put it on the roads…regular headlights, turn lights, round steering wheel, maybe side mirrors…
I must be wierd or have really bad taste, but I love what they have done. My last two vehicles have been F-150’s (fantastic trucks), but this Tesla’s look and specs are fantastic. 14000k Bumper Pull Tow Capacity, that is F350/450 Territory. Ramped Bed, Seating for 6, 4-500 mile range, Ind. wheel motors, and around $40-50k price. Yes, sign me up! My year old $55k F-150 doesn’t even have a lighted ring around the keyhole (I get so damn Pixxxed everytime I have to fumble around with my finger at night trying to feel around for that keyhole). Will those millions of midwest farmers make the switch from Chevy or Ford overnight, of course not. But a truck like this is the future… I only question how will hold up to corrosion here in the Salt Belt.
Yet, somehow still a bargain when you consider a run of the mill mid-Spec F-150 XL Crew Cab 4x4 with a 2.7L Ecoboost and 7600lb towing capacity stickers just under $50k. If they can pull this off, I’m impressed.
