Tesla Ordering Tips - And Most Other Reasonable Things Tesla [but no more]

$42k isn’t too bad, compared with what else you’ll get out there. I have a 22 MYP too so have been keeping an eye on prices (beyond the obvious that they’re plummeting)

Same boat, gap insurance and just waiting on the snow.

Welp. Pulled the trigger on the M3 rwd.

NY deal. Looks like the $2k from NYS is instant.

Is MYP worth it right now for ~$53k? From what I understand MYP will reportedly retain federal tax credit in 2024 but be point of sale. Never owned an EV and considering getting into the game

I’d take a point of sale vs a tax credit
Instant vs waiting for it

Data point:

22 MYLR7. 8,800 mi. Sold today to a Mercedes dealer down the street from me (Wash DC) for $40,000.

Carvana peaked at $40,036 but never crossed $39k since. Today it’s at $36k. Contacted a bunch of other dealers and most said take the 40k and run. My lowest was $28k lol. Feels good to rip this Tesla bandaid off as much as it burned!

Now back to lease hacking. Picked up an EQS SUV yesterday from out of state.

As an aside I put up the 3rd row for the first time while cleaning it out today. Wtf was I thinking. What a joke!

I mean… kinda just swapped apples for apples?

haha!

I drove the MY to the dealer to sell it today after a 5+ hour road trip in the EQS and I was like “oh wow this is garbage in comparison…”

Tesla’s are great for the price they are now but the $67k I paid for ours… they are trash.

I was pretty much saying that at the end of 2021. This Y is not worth $63K or whatever it was back then. Same with the 21 RAV4 Prime. That was a $30K car - not $45K plus markup and distributor add-ons.

Tesla dropped another $1.5k on inventory vehicle today. Lowest I saw MYLR was $45.5K but see one now for $44.1k

Do we think we will see Tesla drop M3 prices in 2024 due to losing the tax credits?

I think one of the The big drops came in early 2023 right after beginning of the year in order to make them qualify for the tax credits.

They aren’t selling enough even with the credits…Tesla will need to drop the prices to maintain demand

Loosing $7500 EV credit will be hard to makeup for Tesla. Sales will go down.

We’ve been through this before and Tesla has survived. Given the few qualifying vehicles in 2024, most competitors are in the same situation. And the incentive can still be realized via a lease.
