Yeah the 35,090 is def an outlier. In Socal, the cheapest I am seeing is around 37k.
I think i’m finally pulling the trigger on a M3 by end of year. I won’t qualify for the 7.5k next year so I’ve been constantly querying the Tesla website for new inventory.
I’m also monitoring the inventory - sort of addictive with prices changing. I really posted to see if anyone thinks the logic is flawed.
An item to note from the IRS instructions “You can use your modified AGI from the year you take delivery of the vehicle or the year before, whichever is less. If your modified AGI is below the threshold in 1 of the two years, you can claim the credit”
However, this does not solve the car potentially being ineligible next year.
Is switching a 2023 M3 to a 2023 Ioniq 5 a good idea?
Just doing it for the fun of it. Not taking any financial hit here.
Edit: I don’t have charging at home but I do charge at work. I barely use the supercharger unless I go on a long trip. Not sure if I can charge Ioniq around as easily.
You can expect to pay hefty depreciation; you can find slightly used Ioniqs for ~30k. Also, Ioniqs have an ICCU issue, which would require a 2-3 month wait. It is a design flaw that affects the majority of Ioniqs within the first 30k miles.
