This is a pretty solid new package offer from Tesla.
The relevant fine print is:
Cannot be added post-delivery. Non-transferrable and not available for commercially used vehicles. US only. Price reduced to $2,000 with purchase of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) for the life of the vehicle
In any case, amounts to the cheapest FSD offer yet.
But you still have to drive it.
If you drive a lot or are semi/full nomadic, it could be worth something.
That being said, there’s probably a reason why they’re not offering it on the cybertruck, a vehicle where you could probably make it worth the while…
This entire thread should be moved to the landfill, since Tesla FSD is supervised garbage.
At 12K miles a year the super charging is worth around $4300 at Tesla rates, in which case you are getting FSD for $700. My single car average is closer to 15K. With the EA crack down, not alot of free charging offers left. The problem is the rest of the TCO calculation is garbage with a Model S.

I still don’t see how you sell high quality BMW every day with brilliant driving dynamics, interior refinement, DAPP that actually works, and amazing styling as long as you don’t look at the grille.
Then you tolerate being in a Tesla as your daily.
It’d be like one of Gordon Ramsay’s chefs eating Little Caesar’s ready made pizzas every day.

I’m dubious as to how many people this is supposed to appeal to.
The Venn diagram of people rich enough to buy an S or X without worrying about the depreciation and frugal enough to eke out every last penny from free supercharging must be a tiny amount of overlap.
Frankly it’s more useful as a lifetime benefit. I’d kick it up to 5 years on the MX and call it the S179 special.

I’m surprised anybody leases when you consider financial advisors and Trusted LeaseHackrs tell people how dumb it is to enter into a car lease when the lessee actually finds a car they want to drive. Based on LH, a new user would takeaway that the only “smart” leases are hacked up fart cars, rotted lot anchors, unwanted close-outs, and trash EV bargain bins that will be turned over in 60 days before the electronics shit the bed (@z0lt3c -style).
When’s the last time you tried FSD? The latest 12.5 is pretty nice. My daily driver is a BMW iX and it’s the best car I’ve ever had and until I upgraded to FSD 12.5 I thought BMW’s Highway Assistant was the best ADAS system. But the quality leap with 12.5 is pretty drastic.
You are correct though, that after riding my Model S using FSD for a few hours, I’m so happy to get back to my BMW iX smooth suspension and best-in-class NVH!!
The last time I personally sat in a car that had FSD was 2019. The guy who owned that Model S was constantly intervening because there’d be weird potholes he was dodging, or the car was beginning to try and to turn left when we felt it wasn’t really safe to do so.
I subsequently bought two Teslas that didn’t have FSD, and smartly disposed of them when I realized they sucked, but the Elon-wannabie service teams sucked more.
My tongue in cheek reference is that today’s FSD is still an oxymoronic “supervised self driving”.
I still don’t trust it.
It isn’t all THers but just a few that do this and dump on seemingly every lease deal proposed or made. Completely ridiculous.
