Tesla Model 3 News

Sorry… :relaxed: I’m out!

I’m guessing he means he has built-in nav, which wouldn’t require a data plan, as he’s not using his phone.

Routing maps via Google maps/Waze certainly eats gigs of data. Lol
Did you know you can pre-download map areas in Google Maps you drive frequently (like I dunno…your home area?) so that the tiny bit of data it does use is slashed to almost nothing?

And data use in the Bolt is irrelevant for me since I subscribed to a $20/month unlimited Onstar wifi data plan. I chopped my Verizon data plan by $20/month and subbed in the Onstar unlimited wifi. $0 net cost increase, but now I can enjoy unlimited data via my Bolt’s wifi (along with passengers that are using connected devices).

How is the Model 3’s unlimited wifi hotspot performance?

So you just pay GM an extra $20/mo and fiddled with your phone carrier (an experience usually right up there with car salespeople in enjoyment, and not even an option for me on a shared plan) and that’s all? How weird that you happened to be overpaying your carrier by $20/mo for absolutely no reason…

With such DIY hacks as these, it’s truly incredible that the Model 3 is already outselling the widely available Bolt.

You can’t really compare Model 3 sales to the Bolt at this point. The Bolt is widely available. The Model 3 has pent up interest for years, with a waiting list. IIRC, the Bolt had a waiting list at first as well.

The Bolt was the #1 BEV in California in 2017.

Bolt sales have waned the last couple months, but steadily climbed throughout 2017. Bolt production is also increasing this year.

Do you know how to read and/or do math? I said I reduced my Verizon data plan charges by $20/month (done simply with a few taps on the My Verizon app) and then added the Onstar $20 unlimited wifi hotspot plan in my Bolt. $20 - $20 = 0? Public education failed you miserably on multiple fronts.

In one recent road trip to NYC in my Bolt, I (or rather the wife and kids) used over 4 GB of data over the course of 2 days using the Bolt’s wifi.

Your posts on here only cement my dim views on the typical Elon fluffer.

what’s up with the name calling? @michael can we get this thread cleaned up a little?

Where? Or you mean name calling Elon?

Personal attacks now, nice!

I guess I’m bad at math for not overpaying my carrier until I bought a Bolt and decided I could now stop overpaying. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

wow…really? You need some tougher skin man. I realize you love the Tesla, but nobody is personally attacking you with regard to their criticism of the car.

Wear the truth like a badge of honor, pal.

You can name call and attack me all you want in PMs and I couldn’t care less, but I’d like to keep this thread on track and about the Model 3.

So you want a thread to post all of Telsa’s happy/“exciting”/positive news, specifically the Model 3, on a non-Tesla, general lease enthusiast forum (which you actually cannot lease), and expect there not to be discussions regarding it? That’s a big ask.

Right. And what does Tesla 3 has to do with leasing? Let’s close this thread for good

Nope, that’s not what I said at all. I’d like this thread (in the off topic area of a forum that I enjoy and frequent) to be about the model 3 positive and negative news. The pointless trolling gets exhausting after awhile.

Fair enough, if @michael wants to close the off-ramp portion of this site. It’s totally up to him.

@ursus can close it just as easily.

have at it. Not gonna hurt my feelings any.

This might be the best post made in this thread recently.

When @vhooloo inevitably makes another post bashing the Bolt (and praising Tesla), we can continue this “debate” in there.
