When they release Q1 numbers, the stocks will go back up. You think the wolfs of Wall Street cares? They care about deliveries. Keep trolling though, maybe someone cares.
I would say this is more a suicide attempt/death wish than an accident. Hadn’t it been revealed that the driver knew the autopilot was not working at that exact sport? Why did he persist?
I know he was an Apple engineer - he can walk on water but that doesn’t mean he is immortal.
However, in spite of this, there is going to be
a) NHTSA NTSB investigation hell
b) Civil lawsuit from the family/estate hell
True but lawsuits and NHTSA investigations do not help. This is no worse than GM ignition switch issue (killed 100s of people, settlement = 120 million + billion in recall), so you are right, this is not going to single handedly affect Tesla that much.
Now about those deliveries …
The whole thing about the system not working is a myth, it was a text from his friends and family after he died. They pulled the service records, nothing on there about it.
I am sure the family will sue for everything, the lawyers have already contacted them. As a human being, I am just sad that people don’t take responsibility for their actions. If you see where he hit the wall, there is absolutely no reason for him not to see it unless he is distracted.
This is why our insurance and taxes will continue to go up. We just can’t have nice things in life.

Look at the heading, and look at the very very bottom of the article. They have a central logs of everything, employees have no reason not to log problems…
No it won’t…plane autopilot systems have terrain maps and forward looking radar systems that detect things like mountains. The newest autopilot systems can literally take off and land on their own. Boeing is even making a system that locks the pilot out to prevent hijackings.
The Chinese case did not rest solely on Tesla naming the system autopilot, but rather Tesla sales employees making wild claims like “you can take a nap while the car drives itself”.
More bad news…
Yes, but the autopilot on my Cessna won’t do that and it has the same autopilot name as the newest system.
