Hard to blame the kid since the richest man in the world claims that Telsa’s are self driving (at least when he is trying to hype the cars). Everyone knows that most people, especially young kids, do not read all the disclaimers about the car not really being self driving.
Tesla’s None existent PR team has probably downloaded the details of the accident.

I do put partial blame on him for hyping a system not ready for prime time, along with the “autopilot” name, knowing that 22 year old kids are going to think it’s cool, therefore shooting a beta testing missile down the road, for which it could’ve been you or I that were hit.
Yeah, I also know the defenders are going to say “but but but…it’s more accurate than a human, and a human could’ve done the same.” To which I say BS. Until the system is approved, it’s still in beta, and not ready for prime time IMO.

If you think that there was ANY way that there was going to be a fully autonomous anything by now you don’t understand how the technology behind it works. If on top of that you thought that there will be robotaxis roaming the streets, hate to break it to you, but you are a “Tesla thumper”.
The only reason the robotaxi BS was even a thing is because they needed to make sure that there is a reasonable excuse to force returns of all model 3 vehicles while simultaneously pumping the shit out of the stock. What did Woods count robotaxis as?
That guaranteed among other things:
- If shit hit the fan with tent assembled cars there won’t be any long term issues
- They controlled the narrative about resale value
- they controlled the used car market
- from here on there is a lot of things that could be considered “conspiracy theories” so won’t include them
