Tesla and Depreciation

Great, thanks. It’s almost lunchtime and I’m 2,500 miles away from a decent pierogi.

Common folks, all he needs to do is hold tight and wait because eventually the car will start paying for itself with a fleet of robo-taxis!!! Is that not true??? Oh no…

Come back home…

Got a chance to purchase a show room X with all except 20’ Tire and Ludicrous for $72000 2 months ago. Did not bite… I guess I could flip it but too much trouble.

I feel sorry for who purchased before price change and want get out…

Still available? I could probably float that for a flip. :upside_down_face:

Actually the original author had an typo, it should be 137k instead of 173k if you do the math, his current valuation is $84k which is negative $53k, that means original cost was $137k. $137k makes sense for full build model x while $173k doesn’t make sense.

It’s not a typo. He states he currently owes $137k, which is where the $53k in negative equity comes from.

Wait a second…the purchase date is only about 8 mo ago…
173k-137k=36k
2384*8=19072
Did this fool put down 17K???

10 % down for the math-enabled

Say what ? Was it a car loan or a home loan ?

Think you missed the sarcasm.

Any one you pick will be a fine choice.

Just what we need. .gov backed auto loans…

Oh wait…

I make around that and have a $350 a month S90. Over spending is an epidemic in this country. We suck at delayed gratification and the credit score scam plays into that.

That’s fairly conservative but not unwise.

Credit is your key to the city in this country.

We have those that don’t save and drive Teslas

Then we have those that save and drive modest vehicles.

The first group will fund retirement via government transfer from the second group, after they make the laws that have you paying your “Fair Share”

Just maybe you should re-think that Tesla !

If by “that Tesla” you mean the S/X then yes, Model 3 is relatively cheap. Add to that the S Class, Porsches and pretty much all exotics or top luxury models. Then again, not all these buyers have to worry about retirement savings. If you have too much money you can piss some of it away.
