Something like this would actually be sick? Are all s2k’s convertibles?
Yes. You could buy a hard top for them, but it just bolts on instead of using the soft top.
Noooooo. I keep them minty fresh. The one I’m getting has never been touched (allegedly, need to inspect). The value plunges when they’re modified.
They’re all convertibles and designed to be a convertible (chassis is extremely rigid for a drop top). You can get a hardtop but honestly the car sucks with the top up.
The Accord is the drag racer in the family S2K’s are slow cars that are fun to drive fast.
This is what I got:
Awesome! I had a 2004 S2k which was a blast on the Tail of the Dragon…
Ah, so you must not WFH or you simply conduct yourself with a level of professionalism we are not accustomed to
Why can’t it be both?!
@mani_is_kool @Bostoncarconcierge I’ll make this my own personal used car thread
So it was this eBay listing:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/383664599979
I looked at a 2007 with 38k miles seller asking for $26,500 yesterday morning and it was a basketcase. Top had two rips, brakes were downright scary, rear bumper had gouges in it, interior looked like a hormonal cat got loose in it, it had not been garaged it’s whole life (headlight lenses were badly clouded), clutch/pilot bearing were bad, oil cap wasn’t OE and air box cover was missing, there were signs of unreported prior accident damage both front and rear (bizarre panel gaps, corroded fasteners and repainting), and it had clearly been driven for at least one winter - the control arms, underbody and all unprotected metal engine components were badly corroded. Just a total basketcase of a car. I was so disgusted and disappointed. He mentioned he was an active BaT participant and mentioned the crazy prices S2K’s were going for…I told him it was worth $20k maybe to someone who could do all the work themselves, but to me it was worth nothing because I don’t want someone else’s abused puppy.
Then I went to look at the car I won on eBay and honestly this thing is better than I could have possibly hoped for. This thing is showroom new and I was completely stunned. I felt like I was stealing it because I could take 100 pics, do a better job describing the condition and get at least $4k more on BaT. But the seller just wanted to get rid of it and he straight up told me he didn’t answer a single question asked on his eBay listing. He screwed himself. Drove the snot out of this thing last night for about 2 hours last night and all it needs is fresh fluids/filters, a clutch fluid bleed and minor maintenance items like seal lubrication clutch slave cylinder lubrication etc.
No modifications to this besides new top straps, a glovebox organizer and some other little things. She’s been well cared for and clearly loved and I intend to keep her that way.
Sick catch dude. Im surprised you found her on Ebay lolll and I made that ebay comment that was moved to trash. Next time you find a similar 3rd Gen TL Type S manual gem, shoot me a pm please !!!
Yeah dude, for sure. I only bought this because it was local and I told him I’d be walking away if the inspection didn’t pan out. I feel like I hit the lotto.
I just lifted it up. I seriously cannot get over the condition that this vehicle is in. It’s 15 years old!! Not a single scratch on the shift knob. I could eat lunch off of the oil pan. No signs of grounding or underbody damage. Zero indication it was ever being driven in salt/snow and I’m not even sure if it’s seen rain.
We saw that in your picture Drove out the ex owners saying “Gotya Sucker !!!” face lol
That is a very well cared for car man. Enjoy it. I was telling my friend the other day that I wish I knew about BAT last year when I sold my type S with only 64k miles. Would have easily made 5 to 8k more on their when i look at other cars that were listed.
An easy way to tell if a car has had fender damage or bumper work or has been modified with a different fender/bumper at some point is to inspect the fasteners that hold them on. Any socket that’s not rubber lined will strip the paint off and the bolts will show it and eventually corrode. All of the fender and bumper bolts at the 07 I looked at had been off and were all worn and corroded.
These bolts were last touched in 2004 in Suzuka Japan. BaT worthy…
F*$^ ! Being a Michigan car and not a sign of rust !
My wife’s 2017 MDX is a Florida car and i saw rust the other day lollll
This thing is in better condition than my 2018 Accord. I’m legit stunned. I got chills when I saw how clean the underside of this thing is. I’m tempted to detail it, change all the fluids, lube all the seals, take 200 pics and put it on BaT. But I think I’ve already fallen in love
Pinch ur self hard, maybe ur dreaming… maybe try a slap or 2 as well lollll
Shrewd negotiator. An amazing deal dude!
its a 2.0 sport is also manual right ?
2018 Accord Sport 2.0T 6MT if I recall, right @chrishs2000?
