Takeover Lexus 450h F Sport Lease or Lease/Finance New from Dealer

Hey guys, just wanted to get your thoughts on the following two options and which would be better?

2021 Lexus 450H F Sport Handling

Option 1: Lease takeover
Transfer Fee: $200
Monthly Payment (incl. taxes): $650
Residual Value: 39k
MSD: 0
Lease Terms: 7500mi/36mo
Current Mileage: 8k and is only 5 months out.
Notes: I’m in the market to finance or lease-to-buy this car and this one has the right color combo and specs. Current buyout purchase amount is 55k (before taxes I think?)

My question is does it make sense to takeover this lease versus leasing/financing a new one or buying out this lease?

Thanks guys and I apologize if I’m missing any information. Just looking for some pointers.

What model is this and what would it cost to lease a new one?

Edited the thread to include model. Going off of what Edmunds considers a good deal with excellent credit and $0 down (0 MSDS) $708mo which is a pretty shite deal.

Ignore this and work out for yourself what an actual good deal is.

Did some quick searching:

I think a good deal would be somewhere within the $500-600 range with max MSDs on a similar spec’d 450H F Sport. However, I’m not finding too much data on 450h F sport leases

What is the residual on the lease takeover? You are paying over 20000 over the remainder of the lease. I would think you are better off financing it in the first place if your goal is to buy this car.

39k.

Current buyout purchase amount is 55k

Well, let’s assume something like 8% pre-incentive. Where does that put you based on the current programs as they apply to you?

Ha! Just saw your post on Edmunds. RV is slightly better on the handling RX than appearance pkg. I was looking to lease a base RX450h msrp $52k 36/7.5k and with loyalty, lease cash, first payment waived and $1k DAS, dealer had me at $519.

It seems like you could’ve lowered it w/ MSDs?

64000*92% = MSRP of 58880 pre-incentives / idk what incentives are around right now. I asked on Edmunds and waiting for a response still. However, 58880 is looking pretty close to 55k without the additional 7.5k miles

Until you add in all the fees, etc.

Without a solid baseline for what you’re comparing, it’s just a crapshoot.

Ok so I should probably shop it against a real deal from a Lexus dealership is what you’re suggesting? Ah man I hate dealing with those guys sometimes

No, you should work out for yourself what your target deal would be on a new one, based on pre-incentive discounts derived from comp deals and the current lease programs as they apply to you. Talking to dealers is for finding someone to do your deal, not for finding out what something should cost.

Here is 450h F Sport offering from @AutoCompanion in mid atlantic for March. Should be good baseline for you.

8% off pre-incentive looks like good target for dealer discount
Find out what incentives are in your region and which ones you qualify for
Confirm money factor and RV for the term you want in your region
Build your target deal using calculator above
Find dealer who will agree to your deal

Or get in touch with brokers who ship, that could be an option too.
