Starting a new job and will need a car to commute. 60 miles round trip 2-3 days a week of highway driving in New Jersey. Looking for something under $300 a month.
You’re in NJ, so full electric would be the way to go here. Get that $0 sales tax.
Ariya or iD4 should fit in under $300/month.
also ask for 15k, your going to burn up that mileage fast.
How? They’re only commuting like 10-12 days a month
I’ve found daily driving uses up 10k without any commute, add the commute and he’s going to be over miles.
Thats true i have 4 cars that i rotate to avoid mile fee at the end. Im doing 21-24k miles a year.

Thread has been cleaned up to stay on-topic out of respect for the OP’s question. It should be clear by now that incivility or diatribes against other members are not allowed anywhere on the forum.
Considering the ICE or PHEV requirement, Altima SR or Sonata SEL.
You are on to something though with your suggestion. I have almost the same commute and days of the week; my estimates have me going over 10K miles due to the occasional local non-commute driving.
12K should be sufficient or OP could be like me, just pay the mileage penalty if it’s cheaper than increasing the annual mileage.
Thanks / this would be our second car. Our first car we average 12k miles a year. It’s strictly for committing.
We don’t have a charger at home or at the new office. Given the limited amount I’ll be driving - doesn’t seem worth it to install one.
Then a phev probably isnt the right answer either.
Granted, the amount youd save in sales tax alone would pay for multiple chargers.
I currently do 3 day a week a 50 mile hike one-way to work and it is 15k miles a year rate if you add drive outside of that like kids drop off, grocery runs, and your regular weekend life.
I have ID4 and Arya to do exactly that at the moment.
I personally enjoy both - nice quite rides, cheap lease and come with free supercharging. ID is with EA and Arya is with EvGo.
2023 ID4 came with 3 year unlimited EA and Arya came with 1 year unlimited at EvGo. I don’t know if that has changed for 2024 models. But I see 2023 ID4 is still possible to lease. Could more slightly more expensive than 2024 ID4 but unlimited 3 year EA is worth something.
On the others hand - if there is no EA or EvGo around you or those stations constantly have a wait line and or broken stalls - I would not value those free charging plans much. In my city - there is a 8 stall EA bank that barely ever has line so EA is valuable to me.
Also, 2023 Arya came with ability to buy extra miles at $0.10 per mile during the lease and thus it is cheaper to get 10k miles lease and then buy additional miles.
Who’s your utility provider? Might have an incentive for installation. NJ ChargeUp also provides up to $250 if you purchase one of the chargers on their list.
I would say a rav 4, but i dont know what their going for but at least its awd for the winter commute
How do you know @forbs is “[m]aking stuff up?” They simply were cautioning the OP to get enough miles based on their own experience (“I’ve found daily driving…”).
To try to draw an analogy btw a poster simply (and harmlessly) suggesting a mileage limit and fabricating RV and MF is really disingenuous, borders on a personal attack (as many of your come close to doing, IMHO), and, perhaps more important, does nothing to help the OP or any other poster using this site.
= opinion. Or more accurately, his experience, which is worth sharing on a forum where someone is seeking advice.
It’s worth installing one just for a 3yr lease. Even more so the longer you stay in the house
