Some Camaro LT1 data points

GMF refused to give me the pay off via chat. No joke… I tried several different times and every time they told me I had to call in for it. They must have not just not liked me

The payoff amount they quote, is it sales tax included? Because when I asked they said all applicable sales taxes are extra

If it is a dealer pay off, sales tax will not be included. If it is a personal pay off where you are buying the car you will generally have to pay sales tax.

You’ll know if you get a message like I did. And I did specifically ask for dealer payoff.

The amount for your dealer payoff is $35,410.96. This is a 10-day payoff quote that is good through 05/24/2021. The payoff amount is subject to change if the payoff quote expires, changes to the account payment history occur, or if additional fees are applied to the account. Please remember to put your account number on the payoff check for reference. The payoff mailing address is: GM Financial Attn: Treasury Operations P.O. Box 99606 Arlington, TX 76096. This payoff amount will only be accepted by a dealer.

I get this

“ We had to verify your account first, to determine if we are able to provide you with a dealer quote. Unfortunately, due to business reasons we cannot provide you with a dealer quote.”

They’re telling me to contact GM dealer

huh. guess i got lucky.

You can always calculate and come within a few hundred yourself. Take your residual + all taxed payments remaining. My dealer payoffs have been a couple hundred or so below that. Or like someone else here indicated, get your payoff amount inclusive of tax and multiply that by 0.91 and you’ll be close to the dealer amount.

Can’t I just divide the amount I get by 1.06625 (NJ tax rate)?

Just got an offer for my 4 month old LT1. 38k at GMTV, 32500 at Vroom. Payoff is 37,xxx so no profit right now. Told GMTV I was looking to get 40 but he said he’s stuck at 38k. We will see what the others are offering

Carmax offered me the most. Just play them all off each other. They will ask you for a copy of their offer, don’t give it to them. Just tell them if they want it, beat the number.

No Carmax by me so I would have to take a trip. Tried to do it on line and it wouldn’t let me. Ill sit on it and enjoy the V8 a little longer :upside_down_face:

ALGO came in at 36

Online chat with Carmax they send you a link to upload some pics and provide a offer in a few hours.

Either I am crazy or cannot find the online chat option

I hate to share this in a public forums but we regret to inform you that you are in fact crazy lol.

Click on a vehicle down in the bottom corner will be a chat window. Type vehicle appraisal and they will connect you with a rep. Tell them you have the Bill Gates virus and they will email an appraiser link, this walks you through the process.

Well it’s been one month since I sold the LT1, and I am deeply regretting it. Now my kids are saying how much they miss it, even though they hated the cramped back seat space. To make matters worse, my 335 blew the intake tube, which is now out of warranty. BMW out of warranty is Russian roulette.

Serves me right for giving up a 6 speed manual V8 monster that handles like a go cart.

I can do nothing but commiserate with you @volnedan.

As much as I liked my equity check, I also miss the LT1.

And, since I’ve had a number of 335 in the past I feel like I’m allowed to say this, a 335 is no substitute for an LT1. A M340 isnt either IMO.

100%

Luckily it has the MPPK and M-Sport exhaust with some pops, bangs and burbles, but it sounds hilarious compared to the 0.50 cal cannon backfires from the NPP exhaust. From a dig it would beat the LT1, but not nearly as fun.

Yeah, that kit will definitely help, but there’s no way to make a 3.0 into a 6.2😢
