Sold one to VROOM!

I just got Edocs and power of attorney is arriving tomorrow. When will I know what I will be actually profiting before I sign this car over? Are their hidden fees they will tack on etc?

Yes, mine was a lease with NMAC. I have not had any issues with Vroom or Nissan. They mailed me the documents and had the correct payoff amount from NMAC.

I’m waiting to hear from the carrier, but the instruction email says once the car is picked up to send an email with a picture/copy of the bill of lading and they confirm payment sent in 24/48 hours.

The carrier number they gave me isn’t accepting phone calls for some reason (so vroom of them) but I expect they’ll call me in the next day or two.

How long did it take to hear from the carrier once they booked it? And how long was it that the carrier called and the car was picked up? No hard and fast rule obviously just curious of what your experience was.

So is the payoff what is completely owed no other fees? Also if their not picking the car up to 10 days what if u go over 250 miles?

If you’ve received the payoff amount in the contract that is the amount. Mine ended up higher than I expected due to fees from Honda, not Vroom.

I actually had the same question about the miles and spoke with them. There’s nothing in the contract. The 250 limit is in place for the 48 hour offer window. The answer I received was unless there has been “significant” mileage it’s not an issue as they understand you still need to get around. I asked them to define “significant” but when I told them what I was projecting I would put on by the time they picked up the car (250-300 miles total) they said that wasn’t even close to significant.

Thanks for the info

The received my paperwork on a Saturday and Sunday they told me they had found a carrier. They said to contact the carrier if I did not hear from them within 72 hours. I did not so I called the carrier and they said they were still searching for a driver. I called again the following Monday and they said they were still searching but hopeful they would get one within a week. They called this morning and said a driver would be there between 12-1.

7/9 - Received paperwork
7/10 - Mailed paperwork
7/11 - Vroom acknowledged receipt of paperwork
7/12 - Carrier secured
7/15 - Followed up with carrier
7/20 - Called carrier again for update
7/23 - Carrier found driver and they picked up that afternoon. BOL received by Vroom.

Two weeks from receipt of paperwork till pickup which didn’t seem too bad. Looks like it’s been quicker for others depending on pickup area I’m guessing.

Thanks for the info. They basically gave you 1 afternoon notice for the pick up? Not a big deal for me anyway but surprised you weren’t given a bit more notice.

First I need Vroom to give me the right phone number for the carrier haha

Yes, very short notice but it was more so asking if I was available for the pickup not that I HAD to be. When I had called them a few days prior they did ask if there were any dates or times I would not be around for pickup. Overall I found the carrier (Montway) very helpful.

Has anyone been able to get ahold of doc dept?

Just sold one RX350 to VROOM after one year into the lease, should net around 2k equity.
Car was picked up about 1 week after the initial contact.
It’s been a mess for them and hard to get a human being answering calls, but so far so good. Still waiting for the check.

Wow. Just curious what deal You had ending up with $2k positive equity after 12 months. Great job.

That’s why have to think twice of selling to these online dealers even though they have better offer than local dealers. The problem is when they have your vehicle in possession and they’re holding off or delaying the payment to the lien holder it does make you sweat. And based on some folks comments here they are very hard to get in touch with.

I wouldn’t want to get stranded and not be able to get someone’s help. In particularly if you still own money to the lien holder, and if they cannot get the vehicle ownership transferred to clear your balance before your next payment is up could be very problematic.

Wednesday July 8 at 1:26pm I received my “Looking for Carrier” email from Vroom stating it could take 1-2 weeks for pickup to occur. I didn’t receive any further updates from Vroom regarding the carrier.
Thursday July 9 at 10:38am the carrier contacted me saying they’d arrive by 12:30pm. They were in front of my house at 12:08pm. So the car was completely gone within 24 hours of receiving this email for me. I was actually finishing up a Costco run when he arrived and the flatbed guy had to wait for me to unload my groceries before he could take the car.

The check came pretty quickly after that. I still can’t believe I had over $3600 in equity with 27 months remaining. (rest of the details are in my thread)

Has anyone been told different dealer payoff quotes? So far Vroom told me $29k (suspiciously close to MY payoff which would include taxes that dealer won’t have to pay, $26.5k and $27.4k. Thought they should all be the same.

im awaiting a fed ex doc from vroom sheduled for Mon, but my payment is due on the 1st. Should I go ahead and make that payment? I assume I will get refunded by Infiniti once they receive the payoff from Vroom…

I think it depends on the finance group. Some have different dealer payouts for different types of dealers. I thought it was only first party vs 3rd party but their might be other differences too. Mine has been the same with two dealerships (MINI / BMW financial) and seems to be my payoff without sales tax.

Has anyone tried getting Vroom to reappraise their car for a higher value after accepting an offer and signing the initial paperwork?

To update the latest on my Vroom transaction I got an email today with tracking numbers for the two checks they sent out, one to NMAC and one to me. So almost exactly 48 hours after pickup.
