Tiny bit of curb rash.
I drove 700 miles more than appraisal mileage. (Made road trip) After deducting 250 miles given, difference 450 miles. In the worst scenario, would I get charged more?
I assume they don’t care cuz when i send picture of mileage it was current miles.
Any experiences on this?
They aren’t fools Electric! You can bet they are aware of the BMW 3 and 4 series love fests of the past few months… ![]()
Yeah I know. Even X2’s aren’t getting the love they were getting not that long ago.
Timeline:
Fri 6/14: Mailed in paperwork and second key
Tues 6/18: Vroom attempted pickup (delayed due to being on vacation). Carrier canceled after a phone call.
Friday 6/21: Vroom assigned new carrier automatically
Mon 6/24: Carrier picked up
Thursday 6/27: Vroom provided tracking numbers on payment to Toyota FS as well as check to me.
Very pleasant experience so far!
Good to hear! Still waiting on getting my fedex envelope. Tracking never updated and it said should have been here today🤷♂️
I wanted to share my experience with vroom…
Everything was smooth until the carrier pick-up date. But after carrier pick-up, they must have lost my file or something. I called them every 2 days asking when they were going to pay off the lienholder. The phone reps always told me “we’re going to escalate your case as urgent to the document specialist team.” Blah blah.
After 2 weeks AFTER carrier picked up, I finally was able to find the direct email of the document specialist who was handling my car. I emailed her and she responded within an hour saying she was terribly sorry and she’ll process it right away. That was on June 24. The following day, they sent me a tracking number for the payment that was sent to the lienholder (Lexus aka TQI Exchange). I look on my Lexus online account today (June 28) and I can see that my lease account was closed.
TL;DR: It should’ve taken 2 weeks. But it took 4 weeks. Email your doc specialist if any payment issues arise
Timeline:
May 28: Offer accepted
May 31: Docusign (Bill of sale) sent to me. I signed immediately
June 3: Received Vroom FedEx Envelope (asking me for my spare key + signed PoA). Also sent them payment for negative equity
June 4: Vroom docusign completed (They signed). Received notice they are looking for carrier.
June 11: Pick-up scheduled e-mail.
June 12: Car picked up. Emailed them a copy of the B/L.
June 19: No information on payoff. Called multiple times throughout the week. Phone reps were not helpful. Just ask them for e-mail of doc specialist.
June 24: Emailed the doc specialist. She said she’ll process it right away
June 25: They requested updated pay off since it expired. Sent it same day. Got email of payoff confirmation (Fedex tracking # to lienholder)
June 26: Lienholder received payment
June 28: My lease account was closed
Shadow, I also drove more than 250 miles (a little over 500) and so far they haven’t said anything. I expect my check today and I’ll let you know if anything was deducted…
Sold my Porsche to vroom.
Carmax 42k
Vroom 49k
Carvana no offer given
Given the disparity, took a chance on vroom. Got all initial info in on a Monday. Sent fed ex stuff back on Wednesday (including my spare key). Called them on Friday to check on status- got logistics set for Saturday evening- picked up, pretty smooth. Money wired to bank account by Monday afternoon.
A little nerve wracking doing things by mail, a lot of trust involved (I guess by both parties) - but in the end it was a good experience and worked out well
Update:
7/1 Received equity check from Vroom
7/2 Toyota FS closed account
Considering my vehicle had been in an accident, I was very pleasantly surprised to get cash from Vroom at the end of my 3 year lease instead of getting harassed by Toyota for minor scratches, etc.
How thorough was the inspection on pickup? I still am apprehensive about some curb rash on two wheels and a rock chip in the windshield. It’s holding me back from sending in my final paperwork.
I did disclose this, the funny thing is I got multiple quotes and whether i disclosed it or not the offer price was always the same. Go figure
The inspection is from a 3rd party driver just to prove that the truck driver didn’t damage the vehicle. It appeared that Vroom paid for the vehicle prior to any Vroom inspection.
Oh ok. I was under the impression, when I spoke to vroom over the phone, that the driver who picks the vehicle up inspects it to see if everything matches up (options, damage etc…) the more I’ve heard though, it just seems like they buy everything within reason. It’s a strange business model and I don’t know how they can sustain it. Thanks for the reply.
I don’t ask questions I don’t want to know the answer to as long as I get my money. I’m still insulted by the offer they gave on my 440! Lol.
You speak the truth my man.
As mentioned above the pick up driver is a 3rd party and just made a note of how the car looks so he won’t be blamed for damage during transit.
I noticed some people talking about their MSDs. If I put down MSDs for my car with mercedes and then sell the car to Vroom, will I be getting my MSDs back or does Vroom get it? I tried asking Vroom, but they were not helpful.
Thanks!
We did that. We received our MSDs from Mercedes in about 1-2 weeks after Mercedes paid.
Thanks for your fast response, @JamesBond. When I asked Vroom, they said they would keep my mSD and when I asked Mercedes financial, they mentioned something about if a dealer buys it back, then I get the MSD back, but if it’s a third party, they won’t, but that didn’t make any sense.
Did you guys do anything before your Vroom transaction to make sure you would get your MSD back? Vroom offered what seems like a great deal for my car, but if I’m losing my MSD, then it’s not. I may be getting a new car tonight, so I’m trying to figure out ASAP if I should just return my lease or sell it to Vroom.
Thanks!
200 McChickens!
