Sold one to CARVANA!

That is low. Manheim shows over $35k auction value. Did you try anywhere else?

What car is this?

When your car is worth significantly less than the payoff I call that a win, means the manufacturer is taking the hit and you got a lower payment because they fudged the residual.

I’ll try VROOM, but usually their around the same. It’s not a big deal like I said it’s a fun car to drive regardless.

I tried to use Carvana last month, but they said someone needed to evaluate my vehicle in person. No one ever contacted me. I contacted them after the fact, and they said they would have given me $14k for my 2015 A3.

Vroom offered $13k.

Sold to Carmax for $15k.

I recently sold a 2018 Nissan Leaf mid lease for $4000 over payoff to carvana. I was skeptical as well, but everything worked out, and I walked with a $4000 check and took a complimentary Uber from carvana right back out to a Nissan dealership and leased another Leaf.

Wow, crazy. I’m assuming the payoff included the residual + remaining months in the lease right?

Minus interest

Yep, residual plus all remaining payments. The reasoning is the way Nissan passes through the federal rebate on leases as lease cash, so it had equity at drive off. Did the whole vending machine deal, was actually a fun experience.

How thoroughly does the pick up guy inspect the car? I have a small scratch on front right bumper, is the sale final if he doesn’t say anything?

Go hand a body shop $20 to cover it up and you won’t have to worry about it

My wife baked some cookies and the body shop repaired the scratch for free🤣

I tried to sell one to Carvana. I got an estimate that looked good, but once I entered the VIN, it dropped $1,300 more for “market conditions”. I went back and forth for a while with them. They can’t explain the huge difference. Already sold one at a good deal to them, but I think the good deals are drying up.

Did Vroom/Carvana ding you for the scratches?

I’m still waiting for the check, so unclear at this time.

How does this work if you have MSD on a car?

I’m sure you just get them back when you buy the car out

Yup…takes about 30-60 days and they’ll send a check back.

I still need to complete the deal but interesting note that my carvana offer went up $500 from late February to early April (10250 to 10750]. Mileage did not change much which is why I am selling. A pleasant surprise if it works out.

No, and Vroom sent the payoff a day after the due date but no additional charges applied.
