Yeah. The tax trade-in only works as if the dealer is buying the car from you (ignoring the lease).
Anyway, I just sold my Audi to driveway.com for a good $6k cash back. I am fairly happy about that. Now the search for replacement starts. Gonna go something cheap for 36months.
How did it work with driveway.com? Did you have to purchase it first yourself then sell to them? I have to do that with carvana b/c their payoff came back way higher than mine, i actually owed them money. Do you know if you sell to Audi if their payoff is same/similar to yours.
I didnāt buy from Audi. See my sale experience with driveway at below link. I think driveway is playing a game where they got power of attorney from me, and will likely get the title sent to them as well. Now they can go register the vehicle the vehicle wherever they want. They are paying off the car as if I did it and register car to themselves or next owner when it is sold.
