I hate to say it, but this is the exact reason/situation that I tell people why they should never pay NY taxes up front. Should your car have been totaled, @albpco, NY wouldn’t care that you had it only 4 days, and you’d be out that money.

Really? Call your insurance agent. I have no idea why people think that they can benchmark insurance costs from other people when there’s about 1000 variables.
