Signed. Acura ZDX A-Spec lease extension. $8 per month, 12 months

,

Acura is quoting a high residual after a 12 month extension leading to the lowest monthly payment I’ve seen. Very good car, not in love with it but obviously I had to sign.

Lol wut. I have so many questions. Do you get the lease extension from AFS. Is 12 months max term? Did they just offer this up front? Would it change because of the original deal? What was the original deal?

Related/Unrelated question - wonder how many/which manf finance arms do lease extensions for 12 months.

Yeah, this is what AFS offered. Original deal was a 24 month one pay, 7500 miles a year.

If you original signed a 50k one pay vs a 1k one pay (hypothetical extremes), would it change the $8pm offer?

From what I can tell, the only two numbers that really matter are the residual at the end of the original lease and the residual at the end of the extended lease term. But perhaps for others, there may be other factors.

What was the original payment? They really don’t want that thing back

Ok for $8 a month I’ll wait in line 2 hours in a mall parking lot to charge the car.

Originally a $7800 one pay (including tax/fees)

May I ask how you were able to get a 12 month extension and that low? I also have a ZDX lease that will end in November. I called them a few months ago and they said they could only do a 3 month extension. My payments are $150/mo and want to extend it, especially if it’s close to your payment.

3 months is the default nonZDX acura extension so your agent might not have known that they have a 12 month extension program for the ZDX. As for the payment, it would depend on your original deal and how they calculate the residual after the lease extension.

Thank you for the information. Did you call them or did they reach out to you? I just looked at my lease agreement and saw that the residual on it at end of term is similar to yours by about $45. I will definitely need to call AFS again.

Thank you, @tanr84 for posting this information. I was able to extend my lease until November of 2027. The representative at the Lease Maturity Center knew right away of the 12 month extension. I didn’t get the same deal as you, but was able to retain my $150 payment. Maybe it’s because mine was a traditional lease vs a one pay. For others that have a ZDX lease maturing, I will post a copy of my extension once it has been fully executed.

Seems like you can initiate the extension request 6mo prior to lease end date.

Mine ends in May 2027, so that would be around Nov 2026.

CS I spoke to said that the extensions offers changes on a monthly basis so it may not be available for me then.

By extending the lease did they give you more miles too?? Does the residual change?

My brother, whose lease is ending in a couple of months, got the same response from AFS. Basically, they are prorating his one-pay and extending it for another year.

For some reason, his contract shows higher one-pay than what he actually paid so his new monthly, if he extends, is going to be a bit higher than what his current effective is.

Yes. In my case, they are giving me an additional 7,500 miles for the extension, making it a total of 22,500 miles.

The residual changed by $300 for the extra year. So, although my payment remained the same, but due to only a $300 depreciation over one year, the rest of the payment is going to interest. I guess that’s how Acura is making up for the negative value on the car.

It’s possible that when your brother signed his one pay, it had a higher residual in the contract. So, if he does an extension, Acura may see what they expect the residual to be at the end of that extension and calculate that depreciation and interest to be the payment or one pay.

Thats sweet lol. Recheck and sign as fast as u can lmao
No idea why your rent charge is negative lol but hey, its time like these, when u ask a question, it may bite back.
I would just quitely sign it and enjoy.

You got a better offer than the OP. Although you had to pay upfront, there is no disposition fee on top of $0 monthly.

Read ur contract, its way better. Looked at ur last post. Glad u signed .
