Yes they are calculating it into the calculator you see already. It’s clearly deducted as a cap cost reduction once you get the paperwork. Don’t worry.
Yes and no. You’ll get a much better “deal” on a Nissan EV…… sure.
But at this level, top end of luxury EVs more or less, or my rule of thumb for luxury in general, if you’re at or below the 1% rule, it’s a good enough deal to consider. Then there’s the “want it” factor that everyone has to adjust for on their own.
It does feel good when you feel like it’s the best car you’ve had yet. I feel like every new car you buy or lease, you expect it to be better than the last. Not necessarily more expensive, but have it move the needle for you as the driver further.
With the R1S I get that in spades. EV in general, I just don’t think I could ever go back to my primary being ICE. Have several older ICE cars, but my daily I think must be EV. Very intrigued by the Hyundai performance model of the ionic. Forgot the moniker for it but the tech they’re trying out with it sounds awesome. Will try and target that one for a deal when they finally become available
Yeah the only cars in the same tier as the R1S are the EQS (with 3rd row) and Model X. The model X leases poorly and isn’t as utilitarian. The EQS(which I currently have) can lease slightly better but is a pretty basic car. Great interior though. Regardless excited to go Rivian. Your deal seems like the best I’ve seen.
Wife has a 2023 model X. Was our third Tesla in the house hold after a 2018 3 and a 2020 3.
I’m sure I’m being biased some how, but I pay for both the damn things, and I cannot find one single thing I like better about the X. After the R1S it just seems like a stupid quirky overpriced car made by a narcissistic sociopath trying to reinvent driving by somehow making it LESS intuitive. The lack of stalks or any physical gear selection or indicators drives me insane.
Okay…. The overall infotainment system is better in Tesla. But I feel the same sort of learning curve in the R1s that I did when I got my first Tesla so I’m not bothered. It will get better overtime. And it’s not unintuitive, just new.
The falcon doors are actually great. Especially with the baby and baby seat, granted the more or less 90 degree doors on the R1s are extremely thoughtful.
Pretty much everything else the R1s takes the cake. Interior. Finishes. Materials. Comfort. Value for money (I lied to myself saying this was subjective, until I actually got an EV that felt like $100k on the inside. The Tesla interior is disgraceful at the price point. I can no longer be an apologist and hide behind the “minimalist aesthetic” nonsense. It’s. Just. CHEAAAAAAP.
Congrats on your deal.
Feel free to share your thoughts. Likes and dislikes.
@apache137 - I reserved a 2026 R2. I currently drive a 2024 Ioniq 5. Could have snagged a 2023 Lucid Air for next to nothing, but passed on the deal and lost my deposit.
I have no idea whether I would still be interested in the R2, given how fast EV technology is evolving. I am a sedan guy, so the upcoming Audi A6 e-tron is a car I could see myself driving.
Sorry for being all over the map, but that’s where I am at right now.
I wonder how much it would be with Montana? Less then $900?
My guide did say there are no accessory incentives and that was just for end of quarter. Pretty unfortunate 3 weeks is costing $100/month
This seemed the only R1S lease deal here. On Rivian’s site with the same down and monthly payment, 24/10, one can only get a 25 dual std with a $75,900 MSRP, what is going on? Did the R1S get too popular they no longer offer any incentives?
The 2025 models (Gen 2) got a rather large refresh. The deals on the 24s you are seeing from a couple of months ago are due to Rivian trying to offload Gen 1 inventory quickly.
I was curious to see how these numbers work out in the calculator, but I think that I am doing it wrong.
You had a residual of 76%, what was your Money Factor (MF) and APR?
When I tried to put in these numbers, the MF of zero was still having the pre-tax payment at 1000$.
