Signed: 2024 Kia EV9 GT-Line - 24/10k, $0 Drive Off, $804/mo

Picked up a Kia EV9 GT-Line (no relaxation package) in Ocean Blue Gloss on September 15th from Hilltop Kia in Richmond, CA (Norcal - Bay Area).

MSRP - $76,555
Dealer Discount - $3815
Kia Lease Rebates - $13800
Money Factor - 0.00091
Residual - 62%
Lease Term - 24mo/10k
Tax Rate 9.875%

$0 Due at signing (I did not write a check - the first month’s payment was subtracted from the rebate).
$804.15/mo (23 payments).

Really wanted to thank everyone who posted their deals here. I know there are some incredible EV9 lease deals out there, but here in California, with EV demand being higher than most of the rest of the US, it was tough to get a substantial discount. The info and suggestions that I got here helped me negotiate a deal that I felt really good about, even if it’s not quite as insane as some of the ones I’ve seen here.

I was really daunted by the prospect of negotiating with crappy Kia dealers.
I contacted a bunch of different dealers in the Bay Area via phone and email, and Hilltop Kia was by FAR the most responsive and straight-forward of the group (Steven’s Creek Kia was the worst). I negotiated mainly with Sean Driver via email, and he was great to deal with. Prompt responses, no BS when I asked him to send me the out-the-door numbers. Very little pressure to buy any of the extended warranty stuff (although it’s a 2 year lease, so there’s not much to worry about at this point). Sale person named JC spent about 45 minutes walking me through setting up Kia Connect, phone, etc. Overall, it was a very positive experience.

Hopefully this helps the next person.

 Can’t tell if this is a “you got ripped off” face or a “that’s a great deal” face? :joy:

Its not a you got a great deal face. I think this is on higher msrp end though

Interesting. I haven’t seen many deals on here that seem substantially better from a total cost standpoing with the exceptions of Colorado (massive state rebates that don’t exist in CA) and NJ (zero sales tax vs ~10% here in CA). Where do you think I could have done a lot better? Genuinely interested to learn, since this was my first time leasing a car.

You should always look in Signed.
2 Months ago someone got the car for $668 in SoCal

I’ll also mention that this deal was slightly better than the offers that I got from two different brokers who frequent Leasehackr (one in CA and one on the East Coast). They were both very helpful and responsive, but neither of them had the Ocean Blue Gloss available at the dealers they used. That’s part of the reason I felt comfortable with the deal I got.

I did look through the Signed deals. That person got a great deal - no doubt. But I don’t think that was replicable for me. Their contract looks essentially identical to mine, except for the residual (63% in August vs 62% in September) and the $1000 loyalty rebate, which I didn’t qualify for (and I also don’t think was available in September, regardless). I think those two things alone account for the difference in monthly payment.

I should also note that if you use LeaseHackr’s “Effectively” payment amount, then my payment is $770/mo.

That’s fine but your statement of ‘havent seen many deals’, and I just wanted to see if you had noticed this recent one.

Definitely. It’s also useful to go back now and actually compare my exact lease contract to some of the ones that I saw while I was still shopping to see where the differences are. Ultimately, this is why lease deals feel so daunting as a first-time leaser. There are so many variables (taxes, discounts, mfg rebates, trims, state rebates), that it’s really hard to compare them directly. I appreciate all of the people who have posted their deals, and I’m trying to take a zen attitude and not second-guess myself too much.

I think you did alright for a first time lease, esp 0 DAS into consideration, enjoy the drive!

Just got our GT Line deal done yesterday Signed: Kia EV9 GT-Line 24/10k $0 DAS $736/mo. Given your 10% tax vs our 8.7% tax, I think we both did a great job. Congrats to us both! I wanted Ocean Blue (gloss or matte) but wife thought it was too turqoise and didn’t want the hand washing hassle.

A $3816 discount (under 5%) is around average. Given the Land has a better lease program, if you are shopping GT, you aren’t shopping for best value to begin with. With no broker or shipping fees, I would say this is OK for a local CA deal. You really need to expand your search out of state to get the best deal.

That’s a great deal! Congrats! My wife also didn’t particularly like the Ocean Blue, but since it’ll mostly be me driving it, I overruled her in this case :grinning:. Enjoy the car! It’s been a blast so far, and I can’t wait to road trip it.

Man, I hemmed and hawed so much about Land vs GT-Line. My rational brain said that the Land had everything that I needed (it really is spectacularly well-specced) with the bigger lease incentive to boot, but my heart just loved the way the GT-Line looked so much more.

If I’m being honest though, my rational brain was telling me to just keep my beat up old Subaru, so I’m glad I didn’t listen to it. :joy:

Can you dm me the dealership information? Thanks

The name of the dealership and the person that I dealt with are in the original post.

Honestly sounds like a great deal. The GT is top of the line for the EV9 and getting a good lease deal is hard - don’t see many on here. Any issues with it so far?

None so far, but I’ve only put a bit over 500 miles on it.
