Ive been reaching out to dealers as well for the Tonale and for the Dodge hornet twin and it appears that whatever money they were getting from the manufacturer in March is not being repeated in May. I’m going to keep trying a bit more, but I don’t think we can replicate March deals.
For whatever it’s worth, the Salesman was telling me that they killed most discounts as they are getting nervous with the current economic climate. April may prove to be a difficult month, let’s see.
What’s the offer you’re making?
Just an update - I did hear back again from Houston dealer who is the tonale loaner dealer on this post - has 3 left. 10k lease non Texas residents prob in mid 200s annd mid 300s for tx residents. Also have a killer Stelvio loaner lead for NC residents only. Dm me.
Varies.
So nearly all are 2024 Tonale Veloce, around $56MSRP and over 400 days sitting on dealer lots. Some are “new” ie, less than 60 miles. Some of the others are “loaners/demo” with anywhere from 2k-6k miles.
EVERY single Alfa and Dodge (for the Hornet twin) are insisting on $2k to $3k “appearance protection packages” and wont budge on these. Furthermore, they will not offer more than 10% discount (pre-incentives) on a any of the above. Lastly, FL dealers all want $1k to $1200 Doc Fees, and Georgia dealers asking for $700.
The damn appearance package and utter lack of willingness to discount to 20% (which is fundamental to achieving anywhere near the LH leases we’re trying to replicate) means the “best” lease I’ve gotten thus far is 1st mo DAS, $475/mo.
Im still working on the Tonale and Hornet, but good lord has this been getting frustrating. I may pivot to an EV if these dont work out.
All you can do is walk away from these dealers that won’t budge on the $2k and $3k “packages”
Have you offered them at least something on the appearance/protection packages? $500/$750? If so, and they won’t budge you’ll just have to go elsewhere. Let the mother F’rs rot on their lot. For that $475 payment there are other options out there in that neighborhood that are better vehicles.
The Houston dealer was very straightforward without add-ons and the like. I just couldn’t get the numbers where I needed them to feel comfortable. But Matthew at Northside Imports is a solid guy. If you’re still looking for a Tonale, I would definitely connect with him. He won’t waste your time, even if you don’t end up making a deal.
Man, thats a bit of a hike from Miami but thank you for letting me know. Im opening up to the to travel and drive one home if need be (and the deal can be made).
I offered them their $1,000 Doc Fee AND $1,000 towards “appearance protection” and they said, absolutely no discounting of that part of the deal. So, naturally I countered with, “then just take $2k more off the selling price, if that works better for you”. I was told, “looks like you want a deal we just cant do”. The car has been on the lot for over 427 days, couldnt even start right without a jump and all systems needing to be reset because the hybrid batt and 12v were both fully at 0%.
lol which dealer was this, lambdin university?
I still have a killer deal on Stelvio loaner in North Carolina for a North Carolina resident only I thought I had it sold, but the insurance was too much. Please direct message me.
dude…I will say you are not wrong. How did you know?? lol.
lol, that’s the only place with the rt plus within 50 miles of MIA, there rts have been on their lot for like 600 days according to cars.com alot of dealers in florida, especially south florida are notorious for not making good deals. what was their offer to you?
What is the offer you are making? What is the calculation behind the DAS and monthly you offered?
I wouldn’t be too upset about missing out on this vehicle.
Their best offer on a 2024 RT Plus ended up being somewhere around $750/mo with first due at signing for 24/12. As mentioned, they wouldnt drop or nego their $1k doc fee or $3k appearance protection nonsense add-on. They also had a leftover 2023 GT+, which was absurd to me. The also wouldnt provide a breakdown of incentives/discounts.
My calculation is reasonable, based on Edmunds SFS numbers for 24/12, April 2025 on a 2024 Hornet RT+. If over 400days unsold, I ask for 20% dealer discount + incentives. If it also a loaner on top of that and with 2k+ plus miles, I push for closer to 22% dealer discount off MSRP.
Per Edmunds, I qualify for 7k in incentives, so thats what I ask them to honor.
Florida has always been harder to get great lease deals in, though. We have no EV/PHEV state incentives, no regulation on dealer doc fees (Ive seen as high as $1795!), and no regulations on dealer add-on crap like ADM’s, “protection” packages, VIN Etchings, mandatory LoJack, etc.
hey are you still in the market for a tonale?
I sure am!! Been on the phone with dealers today. You got any to send my way, Im very interested!
I know man, but if its a solid deal it can make sense for me for now. Much rather a Stelvio or many others, but if I can replicate deals like the OP posted, its just me being fiscally prudent. Lol
shoot me a DM - I’m interested.
