Thanks for that!
But I think there are only some of the fees in your calculation… that’s what I have in the lease contract -

License - $275.00
Registration $317.00
Acquisition - $895.00
Sales tax - $205.00
Processing - $85.00
E-registration - $33.00
CA Tire fee - $9.00

TOTAL FEES $1,819.00

I think you’re confusing Audi Care and Lease End Protection.

Audi Care is prepaid maintenance, and you get a 1% RV boost.

Lease End Protection covers excess wear and tear at the end of the lease. Unless you’re really rough on your lease, generally not worth it and a big money maker for the dealer.

Yeah, my confusion. Thanks for the clarification :+1:

I think sometimes people here forget not everyone is out to get the best deal, but rather the best deal on the car that they want. Congrats OP on the car.

It has always been thus.

Rarely needs to get mentioned because 99% of people have the decency to not shit on someone else’s parade. Or waste time critiquing a deal that’s already been signed, sealed and delivered.

How’s “Private Transfers” different then where most of the posts shit on OP? Granted, I did suggest locking “Transfers” after the first post to avoid back and forth.
So, what’s the point of “Share Deals” posts if all replies would be “Congrats! Enjoy in good health” and “Can you share the dealer?”. Should be locked after the original post then, too.
Enforce what you preach everywhere then. Just saying.

p.s. @Samaudibh’s post “something doesn’t add up” should not be allowed either then, according to you? He’s not really “critiquing”, but rather questioning. Still goes against what you suggested.

I can agree with both sides of the argument here.

Max is right, a lot of “feedback” for these deals is not about the car in question but about what OP should have leased/bought instead without any insight into their needs/wants etc. I can see someone asking why OP didn’t consider such and such alternative, but really everyone comes in to scold an excited new owner for not leasing the latest cheap LH unicorn instead. That’s useless criticism and feedback.

I think feedback for the specific car and the deal is usually welcomed by OPs even if their deal sucks. When I had a shit deal I at least appreciated the feedback and where I went wrong and what I could have done differently or can can do differently (ie cancel refundable warranties and protection plan, or cut my losses and buyout a vehicle with a very high MF).

If someone asks for feedback it’s fair game

I kind of agree is that. But that is not “shitting” on the deal here. What I disagree with is:

Homie, cancel the F&I junk and thank your lucky stars you live in the Consumer’s Republic of California.

@Roi post or send me your warranty mishegas and I will send you form letters to get it fully refunded. Redact any PII.

Together we will make your deal $2600 better and hopefully ruin the F&I “manager’s” week.

Would OP be better off buying this out after he cancels the deals?

That was my thought too but depreciation on a 45k Audi is going to be pretty steep too. Might just be better off with driving this till the end.

Would you be able to send me the form letters as well? I’d like to see them and potentially have them if a future need arises for friends/family.

No idea how much it will be in 3 years, but looking at 3y.o Q3s, they do seem to be trading over $30k

Thanks! I’ve already sent a cancellation request for the “executive shield” package.

Do you think $1600 for the Lease End Protection doesn’t worth it? even after taking into account that the car will drive ~45k miles during these 3 years?
I mean, just new tires will probably be ~$1000… so $600 to cover everything else?

What is the average wear and tear overage you have paid on your previous leases to date?
