Signed this two weeks ago in late December '21. I really wanted another LT1 in my life after parting with my previous one.

The reduced MF (0.00038) and slightly increased RV for '21 LT1’s in December helped the deal a bit. Dealer honored GM Supplier pricing, Conquest, Base MF and after some push threw in an additional $500 discount/incentive they found since it was a '21 (which i’m guessing is the Chevy Red Tag Bonus Cash?). However, the car was originally listed with a $7k markup and had the doomed “Call for Pricing” banner. A massive thank you to our resident LH LT1 specialist @spockvr6 for putting up with my questions and convincing me on the Cherry Red Tintcoat! (And for tempting us all with his awesome LT1 build/mods.)

I don’t think there is another car that can put such a big smile on my face anywhere near this price range! It is simply intoxicating especially with the Dual Mode exhaust and that amazing Tremec TR6060 manual transmission. Although I have never been a huge fan of red cars, the Red Cherry Tintcoat has won me over in the past few weeks, especially after a minor paint correction! (For those on the fence with it, go for it, you will not regret it.)

Unfortunately this was the dealer’s last Camaro; however, I would love to help any fellow hackrs with any questions so feel free to reach out!

It’s amazing how much the paint changes under different lighting situations.

Found this awesome relic in the car.

Tell us more…Ive debated the merits of this (likely doing it myself) but havent pursued it yet. The finish on mine (Rapid “Smurf” Blue) is probably not one to show as much in the way of flaws but was thinking about doing something anyway for fun.

Nice work in NorCal! I tried a while back but every dealer laughed at me.

Nice work! Cherry paint looks amazing. Might have to part with my M340i for an LT1 with dual mode exhaust.

Thank you sir @spockvr6, appreciate the kind words! I picked up the splitter as soon as I signed on the car, this car NEEDS the front splitter haha.

I wouldn’t trust myself doing a paint correction since my DIY skills are questionable. But in this case the paint was swirled pretty badly during their attempt to detail the car with a dual action polisher. And my pickiness with paint didn’t help whenever I saw it under the garage lights.

But after my trusty detailer did a level one paint correction, the paint really took off. It really added some intensity and depth to the metallic color!

And yes we are twinning with our white on grey HA’s! :grinning:

It certainly does under direct lighting! I was thinking the same thing earlier.

Just to pile on, that paint really is gorgeous. Good job with the hack

I think it is all a numbers game! Just be sure to do the inquiry/negotiations via text or email and preferably with the GM or GSM. Out of the 15 or so dealers I reached out across CA and OR, most were cordial and straight forward in their rejections haha. I will let you know if I come across anything in NorCal.

Do it @john6866! I promise you, you will not look back! You will miss some of the luxuries of the M340i but the sound and the NA goodness of that 6.2 L V8 will make up for it!

Thank you @NATO! It’s not as pretty as that Tuscadero 4xe of yours tho, great choice!

HAHA it actually reminds me a lot of it, different appearance in the lighting conditions. Probably incredible at sunset. Just a little bit more “flamboyant” of a hue on the Jeep.
