Instead of spending last weekend preparing for final exams like I should have been, I joined the LT1 frenzy with the following deal:
Year, Make, and Model: 2021 Chevrolet Camaro LT1
MSRP: $35,195
Selling Price (Pre-Incentives): $34,383 (2.31% off)
Incentives: $1,750 Conquest, $750 Supplier
MF: .00038
Residual: 63%
Term: 39 months/10,000 miles per year
Doc Fee: $549 (rolled-in)
Registration: $350 (rolled-in)
Drive-Off Amount: $0 (1st Month’s Payment rolled-in)
Monthly Payment: $354.75 per month (incl. Sales Tax @ 8.625%)
This deal was super straightforward, with the dealer honoring the supplier pricing, conquest incentive, and base money factor trifecta at the first go-around. No hard add-ons either. There was some meat left on the bone with the $549 doc fee (which I later learned should be waived, in the case of supplier pricing) but I still ran with the deal, since inventory has all but dried up in the tri-state area. I suppose that’s the price to pay for seeking out a manual transmission.
With that out of the way, here’s a little bit on the car. After driving a sequence of BMWs, this is such a paradigm shift. As a surprise to no one, if you are looking for a practical, luxurious, comfortable, efficient, or plain easy-to-drive car… you won’t find it in the LT1. It’s simply horrendous in so many aspects, and don’t get me started on the door storage pockets, which can’t even fit a travel-size bottle of Purell. Despite all of its quirks, however, this thing brings a smile to my face whenever I get behind the wheel. Never expected to be learning how to drive manual in a 455-horsepower muscle car during a New York winter, but here we are.
Anyways, before you ask: no, the dealer is out of LT1s. Feel free to PM me for further information and questions, though. Happy to wax poetic about this car (and deal) whenever I can! Now, please excuse me as I continue studying…
