not doing 0-60? How are you leaving the rental place? Lol…I was just using those times as a point of reference and of course those were all in ideal situations so I take that with a grain of salt. Like I said the feel vs the numbers are different.
Hertz from Boston Logan for a long weekend ski trip with my family of 6. Swallowed all our luggage and provided a quiet, smooth and powerful ride - only dicey part was parking in downtown Boston where we killed a few hours due to flight delays. Would be interested in one but for the incredible depreciation curve.
Did you initially book an Escalade, or did you get upgraded?
PJ
I booked a large capacity SUV (Suburban or similar) - that’s what they had available.
I had one of those for friends trip to FL (I’d typically get a sports car), but I surprisingly enjoyed it. What is your review? Looks like yours had a boatload of mileage.
You could hear the turbos like none other if you had the windows down. I wasn’t sure if that was normal or not, but I felt like Dom Toretto whistling past people through the stoplights.
Had 11 miles on it when I picked it up. A Grand Cherokee 4xe was in front of me returning. First time seeing one of those in a rental fleet.
Nice! One of my favorite colors. I’ve yet to see one in the fleet. What was your destination (get any use out of the Jeep)? Was it fairly loaded, leather seats?
I was in Orlando, so basically a mall crawler for the weekend. In hindsight I should have grabbed the VIN to pull the window sticker but I don’t think it had any options aside from the hard top. Cloth seats and no safety or convenience groups.
They have a crap ton here in Denver, I see them driving to work all the time, work at the airport
I wouldn’t want to own one, but it was great for a ski trip with 5 adults. Manual shifting through the canyons in Utah was relatively easy. I didn’t find the 4 wheel drive system to be too good with relatively new all weather tires. Too bad rentals don’t come with snow tires. I always check tread depth after an incident several years ago.
Had a wrangler 4xe for a rental this week. They equipped it with the tow package but not the heated seats. Lame.
I did, however, see this available as a rental at Orlando.
President’s Circle at Hertz PBI was stacked this week.
Tesla, Polestar, XC40 Recharge, EQB, EQS, Tahoe, QX80, etc…
Why is it that every time I’m at PBI it’s like a 3 year old clapped out A class Benz or V6/V8 Challengers and that’s it.
Actually a fairly sharp looking car. I’d be curious enough to test it out.
National at Orlando had a XC40 Recharge when I was there last month. I would have taken it but didn’t want to deal with finding a charger before returning it. Also saw S60s in Orlando and Portland recently. Seems like Volvo and Polestar are possibly doing more fleet sales.
This isnt just any normal volvo or polestar though
Pleasantly surprised with this Terrain for a trip to San Diego. Served well for city driving, smooth stop/start system, fairly smooth drivetrain, and exceptional gas mileage. Probably liked it more because I rebooked several times via Costco to end up at $100 for 3 days.
Hmmm anyone ever rent any of the fancy sports cars in Tokyo? I’ve been looking into renting a 90’s era car during my trip out there.
