Is something wrong with USB? Just curious?
If you see the lease to the end, they will rail you on the lease return. Lease return inspection is done by a third party and they earn their keep. If the car isnt pristine, expect the worst.
I am actually thinking of backing out of the lease. It does not make sense I pay $13000 (approx) in 2 years and if I have to buy it is another $40K.
What I have heard is I can directly go with purchasing the car and dealers are giving $7500 + $3500 rebate(benefit)
is there an option of buying the car after paying couple of lease payments. I have asked the dealer but they havent responded, they have been such a pain in the back.
huh? $7500 is a rebate for leases via Federal tax credits given to Hyundai Financial(they are passing through the tax credit). If you were to finance, the rebate is limited to $5000 IIRC.
Didnt you say you signed a contract? The contract should explain what the early buyout policy is.
The broker today morning told me about these “rebates/discounts” if I buy the car. Havent spoken to any dealer yet.
Good point I might have missed it. but will check.
I am flexible with 5 & 6, preference being 5.
I am ok with any electric car, more discount the better
What were your quotes from Dublin? The other ones were high, so it made no sense to negotiate.
You are probably mistaken. The rebates should be different for leases and different for finance/buy.
Look at your contract with USB. I am not sure about USB. See elsewhere on the forums if someone has shared about USB. You can start from this post which is on third party buyouts but still a start:
Ioniq 6 One Pay, target $5k off before rebate. You can get one for around $8.5k one pay without loyalty. 24mo/12k.
Looking at the terms seems like I have to pay the full lease balance [C5] (13k approx)and the residual value Section 10 (40K). So it would be around 53K.
this seems like better deal. Where can I get it?
Ah if only life was that easy.
Look around SoCal. Dealers there understand the market for these cars rather than the NorCal ones. NorCal dealers can’t seem to get out of their bubble selling in demand MSRP+markup cars.
Inventory shrinking in SoCal also. Maybe try Central Valley. Finding a dealer that is willing to discount $5k and knows how to do one-pay will be challenging.
So what are my options looking for not an expensive car, preferably an electric but non electric will do too. Something that holds value. I was thinking of Mazda CX-5… any other recommendations?
