It looks like the Jeep Wave maintenance program is now reduced to 2 oil changes and 2 tire rotations over 24 months from 3 oil changes and 3 tire rotations over 36 months starting with vehicles bought in late July 2023. Can anyone confirm?
That is correct:
Your first two oil changes and tire rotations are covered during the first 24 months of ownership
Cutting back on everything
Plenty of inventory to weather things. Interesting for sure.
Sounds like this could be drawn for all brands, Jim Farley in an interview yesterday didn’t sound confident. He said Ford would go bankrupt if they agreed to UAW demands. He also said normally both sides would be in room hashing out terms. Apparently there are zero current talks.
If he can’t even figure out how to keep his employees happy and productive without bankrupting the company then maybe he ($21M 2022 pay, 281:1 CEO:median worker ratio) and the rest of the executive suite (the top 5 executives alone got paid $71M in 2022) need to be replaced.
Our 2022 4XE suffered its first battle scar in the urban jungle, a driver backed their car into our front bumper, significantly more damage on their bumper cover it was completely split about 2’ wide. Anyone think there are methods to remove the scuffs in the plastic material or I assume we are looking at an entire bumper replacement. I will get an estimate next week when the auto body shops are open, I do have the at fault drivers insurance policy but did offer to let them know what the estimate was before filing a claim against it. If this wasn’t a lease it would be a great excuse to upgrade to one of those aggressive aftermarket looking bumpers, but I assume Chrysler finance will want this returned with all OEM parts without damage.
Plastic can be tricky to work with, especially for the inexperienced. Have you tried rubbing some of the marks off with soap/water or rubbing alcohol? A heat gun would be another possibility… but again, you really need to know what you’re doing or you can make it much worse. The silver area would be able to be cleaned and touched up.
Otherwise, the parts will need to be replaced. And yes, you would need the factory bumper on if the lease is returned.
Thanks for the input. I consulted with a couple of body shops and an auto detailer I really trust, they all said the same thing, the plastic cannot be repaired, it needs to be replaced. I have some quotes and will let the party that backed into us pay for the repair or start a claim against their insurance policy. If I was paying out of pocket I would try to minimize/touch up or buy a take off bumper off ebay for about half the price of what I’m getting quoted for replacement. What is interesting is both body shops cannot obtain the silver painted trim bezel around the foglight that comes standard on the Sahara, I assume other models are similar. I can’t imagine they are painting this part at the factory, but both quoted me to repaint it at their shop.
Yeah, if you’re not covering the repairs let them pay and get the Jeep fixed correctly.
4xe sales up big. Shocking that challenger sales are down, at least to me.
I’ve got the Jeep Death Wobble. (The Wrangler steering wheel vibrates and front end shakes violently after hitting a bump at high speeds, feels like front wheels coming off or the axle cracked)
Even though I diagnosed it for them, they still took a week to get to it at the dealership only to be told the part was on back order. So now I’ve got a Jeep that can’t be driven on the freeway but no loaners and Jeep won’t reimburse for rental unless it’s being serviced at the dealership (and even then maybe). It could take over a month. Can’t believe there’s no recall for this and that the part could be out of stock. Anyone else have this problem? Gonna rent a car and submit it anyway and then escalate it if they didn’t reimburse.
Are you still within the lease term/warranty? Reach out to Jeep Wave and they should reimburse. Pretty common problem with all Jeeps.
Yes, under warranty. Jeep Wave won’t reimburse unless it’s at the dealership. Dealership doesn’t want it for a month but will take it if I push. It’s a major pain dropping and picking up there. No loaner. It is driveable on surface streets but not freeway.
You have something loose in your front suspension. The steering damper theyre trying to throw hat it is just a bandaid. Doesnt fix the actual problem, just masks it until whatever is loose kills the new damper.
I wonder if not being at the dealership will avoid Lemon law.
Just curious. I was under impresion that flipping is over.
Roughly, for mininum msrp build, How much is the adj cap cost with first months due at signing? $55k?
Carmax prices
Carmax has been lowballing everything. I did sell a Rubi to them for a small profit in the fall but since then they’re among the lowest offers. If you have loyalty and live in a CARB state you might eke out a few grand.
Also your screen capture is of High Altitude where the MSRP approaches 70k. Even in my state with loyalty and a discount on one of those I’d bet Carmax offers 50-52 and I’m not making anything.
I will say for those looking to actually enjoy one of these for 2-3 years, the incentives make the payments pretty nice for something where there’s a gas tank and the top comes off.
