Porsche Macan maintenance cost

Hi all,

I leased my macan with help from this forum last year and now I have another questions regarding the maintenance cost.
I leased pre-own (most likely courtesy vehicle) at 5K mile and I went to the dealer for my 1 year maintenance (mileage was at about 13k). It costed me almost $1800!!! They said it typically costs about $800-900 for one year and $1100 for another year. Because my vehicle was pre-owned, it needed a 2nd year maintenance. The labor was about $1100 and parts was ~$530. With tax, it ended up at ~$1791. Any thoughts on this? Since it was my first time leasing a porsche, I just wanted to make sure it is a right number.
Please help Hackrs!

Be sure to specify your location when asking for input on a deal! Tagging by state (e.g. CA, NJ, NY) is mandatory.

Yeah. It is Porsche.

:point_up:I do not want to sound redundant, but what they said.

Is there an Indy shop that specializes in Porsches near you? I would also suggest searching for online forums dedicated to Porsches for some recommendations.

How is anyone supposed to guess what work you had done?

And what was actually required by the maintenance manual?

And how much would it cost at a Indy knowledgeable about VAG/Porsche products?

Service is a microcosm of any big ticket purchase that’s embedded in an opaque veil. Do some research beforehand or you’re a lamb in the eyes of the slaughterhouse.

It doesn’t have to be. Not for a Macan anyway.

By the dealer book, apparently it is. Book is 1350 for yr 2 service on Macan + parts/labor/tax.

Which means nothing. No one has to go to a dealer for service unless it’s free.

I’ve never dealt with Porsche but this seems absolutely ridiculous price.

Thank you. I will look into those shops. Is it okay to get service done in indie shops for leased vehicles?

I would suggest looking at your lease contract to see if there is any mention of maintenance work needed to be done at an Authorized dealer.

bi-annual service

So you telling me oil, filter, air filter, brake fluid flush costs $1800 at Porsche dealer? GTFO with that BS. Find an Indy shop like yesterday.

Fair enough, just throwing it out there.

Depending on how many Porsche dealerships you have around you, you can shop their prices around next time. Or go to a reasonably priced indy. And it’s a Macan… shouldn’t be too hard to find a shop that works on it.

yea. it was not only a macan but base model.
Thanks for the tip. I will definately shop around next time.

As if $500+ for an oil change and brake fluid wasn’t bad enough, they charged 1k for the line item of biannual service… which was what?

The parts were $522.58 and the labor was $1075 which was including oil change, brake fluid change, alignment etc… it was a regular scheduled maintenance. nothing more than that.

Can you not also service Porsche at Audi and VW? Not that I’d take a 911 to VW, but that’s effectively a Tiguan.

Have owned several Porsche’s, have 2 dealerships within about 15 miles of each other here. One is consistently 25-50% more expensive than the other for service depending on what you’re getting done. Shop around.
