Porsche Drive Subscription

Sorry forum overlords if I am doing anything wrong here…

I’m not sure why most people lease cars. My ideal “life” would be to drive any car I desired, at anytime.

Porsche Drive Subscription service appears to come very close to just that. If anyone knows of a more real ‘drive any car anytime’, please clue me in.

If this service would come to my metro area, I would do it.

Per Porsche

The monthly subscription service that gives you the flexibility to drive one or as many Porsche vehicles as you desire. Concierge delivery at a convenient time and place is just a click away via the Porsche Drive mobile app.Daily commute or weekend driving thrills? I’d love to hear anyone’s thoughts that is interested in this like myself. Or, if you’re actually doing this, even better.

EDIT: I forgot to add a convenient uniform resource locator; those make language-y words that translate into internet protocol-y addresses.

Sure is pricey

I’d be surprised if anyone here is doing this, just given the cost and overall purpose of LH. That said, whatever floats your boat!

I’m all ears if you can find a better way to drive more high performance and/or luxury cars over the course of a month or a year. I have special ways available to me for free that most people would not put in the time for; but I have a never give up attitude. Like this… I’m asking how I can find a better way.

I’d hate having to change cars all the time. Moving all of my sunglasses and spare change from the cup holders every month sounds like a nightmare. But I guess if you have no idea what to drive and don’t know what to spend money on, this seems like it could appeal to the right confused person

If you need it short term, yeah it does not look too bad for Porsche. For mid to long term, it would not be worth it for me just for the fun of it. You can go through the entire line up in a year, twice, and the novelty will wear off.

I’m intrigued … Tell me more

I believe there’s many things you can do for free with a ski mask and a hand gun.

Yet you participate on a forum geared toward leasing.

Makes complete sense to me

Wow that is expensive. But at least it includes insurance. How much do those cars cost to lease?

I’m also not sure why people walk their dogs. Mostly it appears to poop in other yards, but I’m not a butthole that goes around thinking badly about other people. My dog, we walk for exercise. Never has she peed or pooed in other people’s yards.

So, same applies to leases, if you could stop think for a moment. I lease three of my cars. I can’t PRESUME why anyone leases there. It could be to save money, stretch for a car you can’t/don’t want to otherwise buy, for the always under warranty aspect, newest best toys and tech.

I never said I couldn’t list reasons… I just have never cared to wonder why OTHERS do…

Not hard to think about.
But that’s not my point.
If I could have a different new or even classic car brought to my house every day, I would. I’ve driven darn near every car or most types of cars. My dad’s first car was a Model A. All of my family were in the automotive industry, etc. And I think everyone in the industry should drive all their competition, not their own.
And I did not ask why people lease.

Anyways…back on TOPIC…
I’ve got friends that have talked about this Porsche subscription. people are interested. Porsche has changed the pricing a bit since I’ve been watching. Ideally, do it during 3 summer months. Only live once, I know I was given 20% chance to beat my cancer. The car fun is what I do. Driving Austin’s Circuit of the Americas this week. All the BMW M cars. I keep ticking off major world tracks off the bucket list.
It’s the perfect way to know what you might want to buy or lease. Two months ago guy at Indianapolis Motor Speedway that was with me at BMW event, owned an M2, but had no idea what the other M cars are like. How would you? Until you get your butt in the seat

Porsche subscription also would be good way to know what you’d like.

Something like Turo is probably the best solution if you’re looking for complete flexibility.

is there a forum for dog pooping and buttholes that you meant to share, or was this just an anecdote to help clarify your stance on Porsche subscriptions? I’m not sure I follow, but I do think that the user above nails it with his thought:

I’ve been eyeing this too actually and they have it in my area. I keep bouncing back and forth though between this and something like a Huracan EVO Spyder for a similar price.

I’ve driven the non-EVO spyder, RWD. Fun car. I think last week’s Motortrend Ultimate Drag Race #10, I was surprised to see the Huracan beaten, so badly. 8 minute mark on that video is the 911 Turbo S vs EVO.

I’ve also done the Turbo S and GT3 RS on the same day; and Aventador. The Turbo S is the only car of these that has made me sense a little bit of tunnel vision. my periphery vision began to close in during the initial rapid acceleration. Never felt that before or after.

That being said, either option should bring a lot of joy.

Me too…It got CRUNCHED by the 911. But then again, the 911 is doing that to pretty much everything outside of a 720S it seems. It even took the Tributo in the 1/4 in the MT race, but lost in the 1/2.

more thoughts. Two things. I think get the Huracan for show and fun. The porsche for sheer performance, and more retail dealers that can service it. Not sure how far away the nearest Lambo shop is to me.

Random tidbits, I have met the SWinklemann (selfie too) and Lambo’s US HQs share the same office as one of my employer’s office locations, I happened to notice one day. (different floors?)

I wear my Lambo gear more than my Porsche swag, too. But, when I make it back to Europe, I’ll definitely stop in Stuttgart.

I’ll most likely do both. I’ll sign up for the Porsche Subscription and after 3-12 months, I’ll start to spend some time slowly shopping for a Huracan Evo Spyder. Whenever I find a worthy lease, I’ll grab it then stop my Porsche Subscription.

Can’t argue with the fun you’ll have.
