OPEC Agrees to 10M🛢 cut - the gas price boredom thread

This headline makes me want to go on a killing spree.

WAKA WAKA :cold_sweat::fuelpump::money_with_wings::oil_drum:

When was this? Costco went top tier in late 2014 if I recall. Maybe their gas still isn’t as good as Exxon or Shell additive wise but I found using top tier made a difference when I was still driving my Civic as it got old. Not sure what it was but power was more linear.

This is a great example of why gas prices are complex and not just cost of material, reasonable profit, and taxes. The cost premium for 91 and 93 gas doesn’t in any way correlate to it’s actual cost. Sunoco by me sells 91 gas, which is what my MDX calls for. But normally it is only 2 or 3 cents cheaper than 93 octane. If the difference between 87 and 93 is 1 dollar, 91 octane should cost 66 cents more not 95 cents more. Stations price gas at what the market will bear. It’s not always taxes, regulations, opec etc…

I am team Costco gas, but this was 2016-2017. When I picked up the Mark VII GTI the dealer recommended 91 and “not Costco” - I was like bullshit their gas is fine I’ve used it in all my other vehicles before and since.

Empirically: the GTI (which was a :lemon:/ electronics) ran like  :poop: on Costco 91 in CA. It’s was the most gas-sensitive car I’ve ever had. It was meant to live in a state with 93+ and people who don’t mind it auto-breaking on the freeway when the 2009 radar dish reads a false positive.

The XC60 loves Costo gas.

Which is? Buy gas gift cards at Lowes?

I prefer getting 4x Amex Membership rewards pts instead (but that was when traveling was cool)

Be careful some are etn not etf. A few just got liquidated.

Premium is still 1.99 at Costco for me …

Costco gas prices keep dropping. And now with the gas pump and handle sanitized after every use. The retail space has never been this clean before, not even the day it opened. :cupid:

Oil is at $15.xx/barrel… ouch!

I paid $2.29 for regular at the Torrence costco on Thursday. Never thought I’d see it that cheap in California

I don’t pump gas, but all the gas stations around here are staying around 2.95-3.05 for 87

1.76 in PA costco regular, 2.16 for Premium.

I think it was $2.36 (or $2.39) for regular this afternoon at the Marina del Rey Costco. I was thrilled.

Did not see any sanitizing going on (but I brought a glove for myself, so it was fine).

I’m a bit surprised Costco is this high at this point. The spread between its gas and Arco in my area is less than 10c…it used to be at least 50c.

May crude as low as $4.04 today. Feels like the end of oil economy.

T5 anyone?

I appreciate Volvo putting on their website they T5 can use 87 without issue, but doesn’t put anything on the sticker behind the gas cap.

$3.54 now!

A futures contract expiring tomorrow for WTI matched at $0.01

Lowest I’ve seen is the current $0.06…but according to Bloomberg, there was a negative contract.
