Non Financial XC90 Discussion

Generally it keeps pollutions lower for your commute. But it’s a wrong forum for it to be considered as an argument

lol they def ran through machine wash. You can tell by swirl marks. Imma get it detailed this week.

My parents’ crystal white 2020 V60CC lives outside in Florida, and aside from dirt and it needing a good clay bar to it after a wash, it’s fine. My 2019 S60 in birch light is still almost new, except for where my cousin scratched the bumper paint when he borrowed it. :frowning:

You have very high electric rates. For my GF in NC, it’s something like 11 cents per kWh. It makes a charge less than $2 and premium there is something like $3.50. $45 a month in savings isn’t bad.

I get to mooch off of free electric in my parking garage. So it’s an absolute no brainer for me.

Could be from shipping.

Not to split hairs here, but it doesn’t deplete all 19Kwh on all-electric because it will still need some capacity of the battery to operate properly in “hybrid” mode. I believe it uses about 14Kwh before it switches to hybrid-only mode.

You have a point. It’s not very efficient because it’s a 5,000+ lb SUV

My XC90 is higher to insure than the C8 it replaced on my policy. I found that strange lol

For those new to volvo, prior to the B5/B6/T8 that add a HV battery, the T5/T6 ICE versions of these Volvos all came with (2) 12V batteries.

On top of other comments, I think your math is slightly off. On gas mode, the XC90 gets about 27MPG (I’m seeing more like 23MPG but that is dense urban driver). So it’s more like $4.50 for 35 miles of electric driving and $5.85 for gas. Obviously not a huge difference but the electric driving is still significantly cheaper as a percentage.

Also, totally subjective but IMO around town is way nicer on electric versus the corse four banger.

Tesla charging app shows me a range of different numbers to fill a 0% battery but over the past three months I have never taken more than 16.7KwH on a charge and it’s usually more like 16.5 KwH.

Same here… C8 is 550/year and the XC90 is 830/year (I’m in NC)

Volvo should thank Leasehackr for the November sales increase YoY, especially plug-in hybrids in the US for Nov (MTD and YTD)

With the plugin hybrid if your daily commute can be done with only electric then you basically never have to go to a gas station. When I had mine I only went to a gas station once every 2-3 month, pretty much never needed to look at the gas gauge and it was great in ways that I didn’t appreciate before. I even let my Costco membership expire because I found half the reason I had it before was to get cheap gas, although obviously not an advantage in this thread lol. I read about so many people who switch to EV or plugin and then successfully quit smoking because they just don’t go to gas stations anymore.

Now I stand around in line for a hour at my neighborhood EA station every three days to get $3.50 worth of free charging and it rules. No where else can you meet so many women who drive Taycans.

A couple hundred million in incentives and loaner points looks cheap compared to the Mercedes billion plus on the eq’s

Sorry but ariya gets free EvGo so if they are at an EA, they have some $$
Edit they used to get EvGo

Here’s a fun one, my xc90 was parked in Manhattan on the street overnight and it was towed by our local authorities because there was an event on this particular avenue. Vehicle was not listed on any website as impound/towed. I figured I’ll find the car via the Volvo app and the cars location did not updated. Car would launch via the app to heat itself but location never update on the app. I called Volvo assistance and they did not want to disclose where the car is located unless I was a cop. After a minute long convo agent disclosed the address and it was the old location from where it was towed. Long story short, vehicle was relocated 5 blocks over to the east side of Manhattan on the same road. First world problem, yes.

Anyone on here have the wool blend interior? Any issues with water spot stains or general maintenance with it?

Would they actually attempt to verify that or simply take a persons word for it?

And I’m sorry you found your Volvo… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Haha at $300/m I wanted this suv back badly. My other concern was I had no plates on the car other than the printed transit tag, still valid. Made it bit frustrating to ID the car to the authorities.

As for Volvo preps, they asked for the VIN and said, “oh we cannot locate your 2024 XC90 unless you believe it was stolen, and location would only be given to the Police.” But I knew it was not stolen just towed somewhere and once I told the rep what my app said about the current location she simply said that is exactly what she sees on her screen. You are right @zaimer I could have been bent the truth some and said I’m chief Wiggum.:oncoming_police_car:
