Non Financial XC90 Discussion

Mine didn’t come with the 4 prong attachment. Do you have by chance the part number?

PS:Why should I stay away from dryer outlet?

Take a picture of the spec sheet to make sure yours supports 220v

Actually never mind. just ordered a charge point charger

sell the volvo one on ebay! You can return it with the CP charger.

CP Charger is installed on the wall

Kinda random, but what has folks’ experience been with the insurance costs on the XC90 T8? Given its high ticket $…

Same as when I had my Prius Prime ($39.5k MSRP) or my Tundra Pro ($75k MSRP)

I thought Tesla paint was bad

It’s not Volvo paint that is bad. What did you expect from your dealer for $300/mo? Lol

lol true but still :rofl::rofl:

I wonder if this is GA specific since most aggressive deals are from there. Any weather related damage? Some sand storm?

Definitely higher than my previous t6 by about $600 a year.

D & D finance just getting in early to make the backend protection package sell easier

The paint on the one my girlfriend picked up today is flawless. I guess that’s the difference between her 11% off and your superior discount LOL. She paid for decent detailers

About Volvo black … don’t. The other colors don’t seem as precious.

I am seriously considering wrapping mine for another 12-18 months.

second that. I owned a black one from 2020 to now. “New look” vaporized around the 3m-4m mark with very gentle handling.
I had a brown one before that and the paint job was perfect.

In the family we have a 19 White and Denim that look like new. The 21 and 23 in Black have not aged well. All garage kept.

Now I have the plug in hybrid, my question is what is actually the point of a plug in hybrid? Our Volvo XC90 goes about 35 miles on electric with a 19kwh battery. When I charge at home my rate is about 25 cents per KWH. That means for 35 miles I am paying about 4.50 which is the cost of one gallon of gas. So I am not really saving any money here by driving on pure electric and the way I experienced in hybrid mode, it doesen’t really go hybrid, it just goes mainly electric most of the time until there is no more charge and than it switches to gas. So I really don’t know what is the point here. Why don’t they do just like a regular hybrid where I get average of 36-37mpg and call it a day. At the end of the day I am still happy with the car but just don’t get the point with the plug in hybrid, or do I miss something major here??

Not sure where you live, but that use case for the XC90 hybrid makes the most sense with cheap electricity and super low miles.

As a 2nd car and If you have it for a short commute in and around town, have plenty of solar and don’t have to spend for a 220v/L2 charger you can be the biggest winner of all time as you might fill it up a few times each year at best.

Other than that enjoy the incentives and the drive.

I’m in a similar boat with an older xc90 recharge with only 10 kWh battery. In summer I get 20-23 miles on it, in winter more like 15 - usually only uses 8 kWh of the battery before jumping to gas. And I pay $0.31/kWh. And the supreme gas around me costs $4.00-4.50/gallon. In reality that means in winter I’m getting ~30mpg from electric and ~35-40mpg in summer from electric. The benefit I think is that my around the town driving (which is electric mostly) when I am on gas it is more like 22-25mpg, so still less than my electric (though highway is 28-30). I used to get the benefit of free energy from solar but now that I have heat pumps for house heating that is long gone :). I will say the T8 is much faster though and has much more horsepower than a T5/T6.
