Non-Automotive Deal Hacker - Post Your Deals Here!

Not sure if this got posted anywhere, gm card $100 credit when spending $1500 in fuel or pay power bill for six months. Need to sync the gm card to gm rewards and choose the promo you want.

you guys are in the wrong thread posting car deals.

this is the non-automotive deals thread.

I guess this is still somewhat automotive, but is there a hack to go a good deal on a garage door opener plus installation? I am planning on buying a Chamberlain from Amazon or Costco.com and hiring a pro to install it ($250 seems to be going rare in my area).

Open to other suggestions

Yap. I already paid my electricity bill three times using this. 6 times and I would receive the $100 statement credit.

I just made a $50 payment, do you think I can make 5 more $10 payments or is it one payment per billing cycle?

I thought the same but I think it is one payment per credit card statement.

This takes it time to refresh/update:

You are on the right track. We use the myQ sensor, app and what not with it as well.

If you are replacing the old opener it’s actually pretty easy and can be done in less than 30 minutes. If you are messing with the door or spring, that’s a different story.

The spring could kill you, as it says on the tag…

Seriously dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing

Side mount, side mount, side mount.

Do not get the traditional chain driven, center mount buhlsht garage opener.

You’ll thank me later.

I’m on the belt drive with no wifi and battery backup train. The same reason I’ll never install wifi deadbolts. These are dealers choice though and to each their own.

I hear you, brother. Thankfully the shotgun shells in the house don’t have wifi either

I don’t have anything against WiFi, just not on entry points to my house!

:double_exclamation_mark: Absurdity ahead :double_exclamation_mark:

CVS email offers have been fast and furious. Lots of $4 offers with no order minimum.

This seems to be the magic number to get me to take action, although I just used a $2 one because I have another online order waiting for me at the same store.

Some of the “total savings applied” is the difference between their regular absurd price and a sale price.

The extra couple of pennies applied to some of the orders are rewards from previous orders.

The bag fee on the CA orders is a real thorn in my side, but I haven’t (yet) demanded that they keep the bag and give me my dime back.

Since April 11:

I initiate the purchases from whichever shopping portal has the best rewards on that day. Today that’s TopCashBack at 25% for the first order and 8% for any subsequent orders on the same day.

Usually I use AAdvantage eShopping.

There’s always a lag on the portal credits, but here’s an except from one source.

That’s why you gotta use multiple systems. Make sure your garage isn’t the same vendor as your keys and isn’t the same as your alarm systems.
