NJ Bolt Premier Mic Drop. $5618 One Pay, free after Buypower and NJ Rebate

Sure, I explored the fake and real options :), as well as very non-Tesla like frunk full of cooling reservoirs, 3 of those! A fake option that left me a little puzzled was a lack of the radar cruise control with a following indicator only, as an ersatz.

Not having ACC is definitely something that hurts them in this segment. It really doesn’t make a lot of sense. I just realized that my mirror has a camera in it today though. That was really cool to play with!

Yeah, that’s a cool feature, I agree. My sales guy couldn’t explain to me where I could see an indicator after pulling the left paddle or pressing the little Auto-Headlights button.

Left paddle gives no indicator (unless you count the energy meter going green for regen on the right of the gauge cluster), just turns the brake lights on when you slow down enough to justify it. On the top left of the gauge cluster you’ll see a little green “A” when you engage the auto high beam button on the stalk (auto headlights are separate and on the far left of the dash close to the mirror adjuster on the door.

I was looking for it after I manually turned the headlights on.
Anyway, this is not as important as a question…how do you charge it?
The provided cord and the in-car option between 8A and 12A leaves me still question whether I can plug it into the 240V NEMA 14-50 outlet with a 50A breaker that I just had installed in my garage.

With an appropriate plug adapter the included charger WILL work faster. It’s dual voltage and will charge twice as fast at 240. A real level 2 charger is definitely faster than that. You could install one, or Costco is currently selling a portable level 2 that’s pretty affordable. I haven’t looked into the specs though.

Ohhh dont talk about bridgewater Chevy, they are the wrost chevy dealers in the state. Btw if you want to have any worse experience, go to bridgewater Honda. They were selling Accord touring at 600+ a month when it first came out which is more than Audi A6 (the sales guy said that Accord is better than Audi A6, I was like these 2 cars are not even in the same category).

I am planning on taking my car to Bridgewater chevy and showing them the deal, one of their sales man was very pushy and kept saying that I would be luckiest man alive if I could find Bolt under $9000 one pay. Also, I do need to write a fun review for them on my day off (well, not just one, having 15 dummy email accounts have their uses). Also, I need to find the sales guy on dealer rater, I need to give him a piece of my mind.

I am still trying to learn all the differences between charging. Some Bolt forums have good information. I dont have charger at home but public charger is only 2 min drive and 10 min walk. I will be using that mostly after 7 pm as parking is free after 7pm.

Thank you. I unwrapped the cables in the trunk of the car I test drove and saw 120V stamped on it, which puzzled me.
The sales guys said I needed to purchase a wall charging unit, besides my 240V outlet that I already spent the same money on.

Wow, I would have never looked for chargers at Costco, thanks a lot for the tip! Their Siemens unit is $399, but I’d have to change my NEMA 14-50 outlet to 6-50 to use it.

The included charger should work just fine, twice as fast on 240. Is Bridgewater trying to up sell people on chargers they offer?

I don’t know that much about it, but this is a cheap portable level 2 option they have. No installation needed.

Actually scratch that one, looks like it’s about the same as the included one, unless I’m missing something.

I found this on amazon. Little expensive but has good reviews.

Believe it or not my friend picked up yesterday Bolt LT at Bridgewater with $260 monthly payment for 36/15. Just first payment DAS. It was not easy negotiation but this is the best He could get. So technicly if he would go with one pay and 10k miles a year total cost would be less than $7k OTD.

how would it drop from $260/mo to $55 ($7K-5K rebate) ? Was his total of $9360 not taking $5K rebate into consideration? Also, LT is cheaper than Premier.

Looks good, hopefully it lasts. I’d prefer a reputable brand, or at least a UL-listed one, since it can be a serious hazard and a fire risk otherwise.

Be very careful giving out this advice. Not ALL Chevy/GM EV chargers that were ever sold are 120/240 switching. If you are going to use unauthorized or unrated adapters to increase the voltage supplied to your OEM charger, be sure that you know and accept the risks in doing so. I’m not privy to the particular models/years that can take 240, nor am I recommending any adapters to charge your EV faster than what what is rated/written on the charger. Always consult an electrician about EV charging if you are unsure; it’s a lot of power.

Anyone else get the Costco email blast this morning? There go the last of the Bolt deals  Congrats to all who got one already.

No, what happened?
