So I went in today and the final price was 1302 in taxes and fees and 109/mo. I didn’t sign though for three reasons:
They first told me that all I’d need was $112 first payment and $112/mo after. They made a mistake and didn’t calculate the taxes and fees somehow so came back with $1302 first payment, taxes and fees. I think it probably was an honest mistake or system failure.
They wouldn’t give me the $1000 loyalty and said I wasn’t in the mailing list. And they also make every customer buy their $2500 protection package, which is why it wasn’t a free lease!
So I’m going to call Nissan and see about the loyalty (or maybe start another thread here and get the hive mind) and see if the dealer calls me back to move the car. If all else fails I will take the lease because it still is a good deal but I don’t mind holding out since I doubt it’s gonna get sold
I showed them that and they said they have a system and I wasn’t in it. The salesman told me (which I still take with a grain of salt) that the owner is the one who discounted the vehicles to move them and the managers don’t want to sell because of how they get paid on deals or something. I sort of believe it because the same finance manager was pretty upset when I got my Nissan Pathfinder from them and was being really sarcastic with me as I signed the papers lol
I think so too. Seems like they are losing money and trying to not lose all of it. But they will be sad cause I know how to read the paperwork. They are not passing on the $1000 dealer cash (I saw that on the sheet they showed me to “prove” they were losing money lol
I’ve been told by some Nissan dealers that they are not allowed to show the dealer cash as a rebate on the final contract. In the end, if you have a target payment, and they hit it, it doesn’t matter how it gets accounted.
Makes sense. My target was 0 but $100 ain’t bad! I would’ve gotten away with it too if they didn’t add the stupid protection package. They aren’t budging on anything else so I figured the loyalty would have helped out but they don’t want to give me it
How can any lease be $0 if the MF is also not near .00000? Not only do you have negative depreciation, which isn’t possible, but you also seem to think that it can cover the rent charges.
Your effective monthly for the Evolve+ would be $173/month. I posted a deal like that in the deals thread and it got so much traction that the dealer ended up reneging on his offer and killing my own deal for a $330/month Platinum trim. (I picked another one up for a little higher price!)
Honestly I would not wait too long. It’s a great car and a great deal, evolve+ is a good well rounded trim, don’t get greedy.
You should be able to get the MF pretty low by doing a one pay plus MSD which many of us were successful with on the Frontier, but I haven’t seen anyone doing it on the Ariya.
Correct, have not found anyone saying they will do both on the Ariya. Only one dealer willing to do MDSs told me that NAMC said no to combining OnePay with MSDs.
This was my point in posting this thread. Have never seen this type of thing before and didn’t know it couldn’t cover the rent charge. Posting the numbers in the calculator gives negative payments so I figured I would try it out
Funny enough I found this same vehicle with almost the same discount at another dealer. If they give me loyalty and don’t throw in a protection package I am going to do that. If it’s the same I’ll get the one closer.
I’m not being greedy this is more of a learning experience for me as this is my 3rd lease after learning about leasehackr and due to the discounts and rebates makes for some crazy numbers so trying to learn all i can. And if I can wait a few days and get some additional money off it’ll be worth it.
Yes, rent is not on monthly payment. Rent is charged on capcost + RV. Money factor is a fraction of (capcost+RV) you are supposed to pay each month basically and this money is bank revenue for letting you use bank’s property.
You can ask dealer for a check. Bank is unlikely to fund deal with negative deprecation. But even if they do, it’s not negative monthly payment. The formula would be (RV + cap.cost) x MF.
