Nissan Ariya Negative Lease?

Hello all!

First post but been lurking for a while!

Currently talking to a dealer and looking at a Nissan Ariya Evolve+. The dealership has a discount of over $9k before any other incentives. Other incentives are $3120 lease cash for 18 month lease, $7500 lease cash, $2000 customer bonus cash, and I qualify for loyalty of $1000 and $500 college grad. MSRP is around $50k which in all the calculations comes at negative numbers even before loyalty and college grad!

I know I need to pay taxes and fees but is it possible to roll everything into the lease and it be literally free? Can I add on a bunch of extras (adding the dealer plays nice) until I come out of the negative and it still be free? Or will they make me pay the taxes and fees separately and just have 0 monthly payment?

I don’t know all the rebates, but you can ask for some of it as Cash and not go into the negative.

Oh wow! Is that something I’d just ask for? Is this common in scenarios like this?

Maybe that’s where the dealer is being sneaky?
Having negative depreciation, your contract might not fund

No. He is being sarcastic.

Many Nissan dealers will include bonus cash in the discount. Otherwise, this looks like a fairly normal rebate stack for Ariya, you should post your calculator, probably a mistake, but could be under $200/mo.

You ask the dealer if any rebates can be paid out as cash, it depends on the rebate. There’s a thread here about someone in CO doing this to prevent going below RV.

I asked the salesman to confirm and he said it would be the 9k off before everything else. And on their website they have a very basic calculator that only shows the 9k, 2k customer bonus and 7500 ev at $99/mo 0 down. Let me grab a pic

Interesting. On their website they have a very basic calc showing it as 0 down $99 month before the $3120 18 month lease cash kicks in. I’m going up Monday and I’ll see. But will also post the calculator

Their own calculator before $3120 leash cash, $1000 loyalty and $500 college grad (it breaks when adding down payment to simulate lol)

Dealer websites very often include incentives in the discounted price they show. I would be incredibly skeptical.

Also, keep in mind that even if the sales price = rv, you still have rent charge to pay.

Thanks I will make sure it all checks out. I’m in Louisiana so not much EV infrastructure here anyway. So it would only be worth the hassle if this crazy deal actualizes!

As always, your best path forward would be totally ignoring anything on a dealer’s website and put together a well resesrched target deal. Thatll give you a much better view of reality.

Why don’t you try to sign your zero dollar lease ?

That’s the plan! Just was trying to see if anyone else came across something like this before.

I appreciate that. This will be my 3rd lease with Nissan. I’m more hopeful with this dealer because I got my Pathfinder SL from them with only their website discount. One pay was like 4712 before taxes. But I do hear you though (for real)!

It would either be the largest dealer discount we have ever seen on an Ariya, or a misrepresentation of discount versus rebate. By all means, if it’s real, go get that 18% off.

Taking your calculator and putting $0 depreciation makes it look like this without taxes: Calculator

I’d still do that deal but hopefully they throw in some random stuff I don’t need to raise the CC instead of reducing the discount lol
