Nicest SUV for $450/month $0 DAS?

RX350’s last month were around $450 with Loyalty. Not sure what they are like this month.

That’s a “luxury” SUV

Acura RDX w/Tech might be something you’d want to look into although it is smaller than an X5 in size.

Another issue you’ll run into is finding a “6cyl” manufacturers have turned to 4cyl turbos for a vast majority - but I do recommend going to drive a few cars, you may realize that the vehicle’s you’re interested in have adequate power (and options for that matter without being fully loaded)

If there are 2020 MDXs left, those aren’t a bad option.

Do QX60s still lease relatively cheaply? I try to ignore Infinity like their former ceo.

If not an

One of the dust-buster Lexus NXs?

$450 sign and drive isn’t even an X1. Maybe an XC40?

Stelvio?

I would scour the marketplace and hire a broker, but it’s quite a scratch and dent list.

If you exit lux, CX-5/9, Highlander.

If you want a third row, SOL. :man_shrugging:t2:

Subaru Forester Limited or Touring.

Maybe too small, but has hands down the best visibility of any car on the road.

Toyota is definitely not a luxury brand, but top of the line fully loaded Highlander XLE Premium was going in the 450-500 range with 0 or just first DAS even as recently as a week or 2 ago if leased thru Ally. Not sure if May numbers have changed.

Edit: Actually were even less than I thought if you can find inventory. Limited’s we’re going for $450 XLE were right around $400. Check out this in the market place or reach out to @Jrouleau426 he’s up in your neck of the woods.

They do not - none of the Infiniti lineup leases well anymore unless you’re in an existing lease.

Highlander XLEs in New England were 325/month 325 @ signing last month

Point of reference:
Drove from Bergen County NJ to Valenti VW in CT to lease a '21 Tiguan SEL 4-Motion in late February of this year. A dealer in MD wanted 480 with 0 DAS, another one wanted 500 a month, and my local dealer basically called me a liar when I asked to be around 400 a month, and said there was no way any dealer would even get close to that.

I was able to get it at 415 for 39 months, 10K a year, true 0 DAS. $450 a month for a “luxury” SUV is possible, but only if you put $5,000 down

No the NX’s were in the low to mid 300s

Op you also need to remember with CT, you are essentially adding a minimum of $1200 a year ($100 month) for property taxes. I live in one of the cheapest mill rate towns in the state and my $36k Tacoma is $650 per 6 months.

Oh wow, I didn’t know that applies to leases. I thought it was just cars that are paid off/owned. Ty for letting me know!

That sounds excessive. I live in Stamford. Property taxes for my 2019 Tacoma were $611 last year.

I didn’t know CT made you pay additional property taxes on a leased car. This is in addition to the 7 and change percent sales tax you pay on the monthly ?

I just leased a car last month in CT and now I understand why they made me fill out some tax forms (CRT form etc ) . I’m in NJ FYI

With $0 DAS? I don’t recall that, but I’m too lazy to look…

I think that’s a very good question. The nicest SUV for 450 bucks a month and nothing due at signing would be the 2021 Volvo XC60 t5 momentum FWD. Now, it doesn’t have every possible thing in it but it has a lot of great features. And Volvo does not make a V6 they have various iterations of V4 with turbo and something above that which I can’t remember. But it’s adequate horsepower.

What’s your definition of ‘nicest’, and why is a V6 a hard requirement? Seems like very limited options with traditional luxury badges. You could probably get much better overall packages (options, tech, safety features, etc) and a more realistic shot at your price target with:

  • Mid-spec Sorento or Santa Fe.
  • High-spec CX-5
  • Mid-spec Jeep Grand Cherokee (V6)
  • Like someone mentioned Toyota Highlander or Venza
  • Steps down in size, but into near-luxury territory - Acura RDX or Lincoln Corsair - not too many recent leasing data points on the Lincoln though

V6 SUVs in that price range

Jeep Grand Cherokee
Dodge Durango
Honda Pilot
Toyota Highlander
VW Atlas
Nissan Pathfinder

Maybe a 2020 leftover MDX? (Not sure if there is still lease support

Whether you lease or own, you have to pay a personal property tax on automobiles. It’s a mill rate based on the car’s value. Each town has a different mill rate. So the tax could be cheaper or more expensive according to which city/town you live in. On the 2 cars I own (2001 Prelude & 2017 Pilot), I get a bill from the city that has to be paid every year by August 1. TFS gets the bill for my leased 2019 Tacoma which they pay on my behalf, then add it to my lease bill the next month.

We also have a luxury tax on cars over a certain price point ($50K or $60K). @Bostoncarconcierge knows the figure. I think he told me it is 1%. So you pay 7.35% instead of 6.35%.
