This will be my 3rd lease, but only my first after discovering this forum and doing some other online research…The “ouch” factor on the first two, as well as embarrassment, is great now that I’m better informed.
I’m looking at a 2019 Nissan Rogue. I’ve been on Edmunds and I know what the residual is and the MF. There is also a $2025 in incentives. The MSRP is listed as $29,185 and the sale price listed at $25, 918.
My question is if the $2025 incentive that I was made aware of on Edmunds has already been factored into the “low price” of $25,918 the dealer is showing or should I expect to be able to negotiate beyond that?.. I also have no idea why the numbers they’re showing off of the MSRP don’t add up to their sale price either.
the “Cash” incentives you have listed are the $2000 in incentives that Edmunds has listed. Not sure where the extra $25 is coming in. You should be able to negotiate further
The incentives in that quote appear to be for purchase, not the 2025 in lease cash. Backing everything out it appears that the dealer in that advertised quote is offering a little under 1300 off sticker before rebates, which is a far cry from what @aronchi’s deal shows is possible, about 10%, almost 3000 off before the lease cash. That’s what you should shoot for, or just reach out to @aronchi if his deals are geographically accessible to you or worth paying to ship, if possible.
I’m aware that the Rogue isn’t high on everyone’s 2019 list and I’m not completely sold yet, ( have looked at a few other SUV’s and sedan’s ) but I keep gravitating back to it…I just kind of like it…I’ve also had several Nissan’s over the years and have never been unhappy with any of them so perhaps that’s part of it…Just bought my son, with help from his dad, a 2015 Sentra back in the fall, so yeah.
I’m in the Louisville, Ky metro area…Not sure what it would cost to ship a car from NY/NJ ??? Lol
From perusing Edmunds it looks like some areas are getting about 1K more this month in incentives than mine is right now, although I saw one area that was less. Honestly, not a great deal has been posted for May.
Have received an initial offer on a 2019 Nissan Rogue SV AWD. ( I visited this dealership 2 weeks ago for a test drive but left without purchasing/leasing because I definitely wasn’t feeling the numbers which also made me realize I wasn’t educated enough on the process enough either ). The manager has been contacting me ever since so I guess this isn’t an initial offer but a start-over offer…Anyway, here it is…And I realize it’s not great…Just wondering how best to move forward.
MSRP $29,185
Sale Price: $ 27,949
Minus Lease Rebate - $2025
$488 due at signing. $350 p/m 36/12
Everything adds up in regards to MF and residual factor…However, I’m not prepared to pay $350 a month for a Rogue…I realize I can put more money down to lower the payment but not approaching it from that angle…Their sale price is only 4.2% off the MSRP and someone had suggested that 10% off is doable on a Rogue…Does that sound realistic and should I just shoot back an offer of 10% ( or more ) off??
There are 2 other Nissan dealers in my area that I’ve reached out to but to date, all I’m getting are “Come on in”…“And Great News!!.. I can put you in a new Rogue for $350 a month”…Just like the above, I guess.
Reach out to more dealerships.
Did you test drive other car in same segment like RAV4?
Check out @aronchi page. He deals with Nissan for NY and NJ. This will give you an idea to compare.
Have you looked into any other incentives you may qualify for? College Grad/Student? Military? Do you, or anyone in your household work for a company that qualifies for Nissan VPP?
Are you saying that because perhaps I’m not going to do much better on the Rogue i.e. that’s as good as it’s going to get and I need to look at less expensive cars if I don’t want to pay that much per month…Or because there are similarly priced cars that lease better?
I liked it well enough but I’m not married to it…I’ve really struggled getting excited about any car this time.
Not necessarily less expensive MSRP wise, but it’s possible that similar cars may have better programs in your region. Maybe cross shop the Toyota RAV 4, The Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain, if a smaller crossover type is what you are interested in.
