You should be able to. I could have sworn someone else applied it to a car they leased retroactively (like a day later) but I could be wrong.
Confirmed with the BMWCCA rebate on a lease. I leased a 2018 540i xdrive m-sport (amazing car, I love driving it) mid June. I applied for the BMWCCA 3 yr membership a week after having the car. Then filled out the rebate application. Received a confirmation email from BMWCCA that everything looks good and it was submitted. A few weeks later I received a $1000 check from BMW in the mail.

I joined bmwcca two days after my contract was signed. Just got my rebate check the other day.
