Model 3 Lease Details released

There he is

I agree with you but personally I don’t care if he inflated his stock through lies…that is what the stock market is built on. This is coming from someone who day trades lol. His lies however are ideas in his head that he believes will come true, I buy into any innovators beliefs because that is how they move forward. His main problem is he hypothesizes on market valuation just like you would a new idea…unfortunately that doesn’t work in a publicly traded company…but all companies inflate through one means or another.

I’m not calling him a liar…he’s overly optimistic to the point he’s not believable though. Be a little more realistic.

His biggest problem is that his company is public. When you are on the market you can’t just show up in front of traders with aspirational goals. They need to see real numbers. These are people that care about nothing but money…morals?..lol…what’s that? They can get an extra 1% by killing a bag of kittens…they bring out the baseball bats and have a home run contest. With that said, they do play an important role of exposing fraudulent companies. Big corporations are notoriously hard to catch…must watch: ā€œEnron, the smartest guys in the roomā€.
I don’t think Elon is a fraudster at all, his record is too impeccable, long and impressive…and I don’t think $ is his goal here anyway. And honestly, many of the short stories are full of crap aimed at creating fear. The determination of some of them is impressive…the guy that went to the factory and punched the security guard comes to mind.
I try to stay away from stock talk. I don’t get why so many nontraders care about the stock anyway. I trade daily but I’m more into futures than individual stocks…especially if they are battle ground stocks like TSLA. I could not help myself and got a nice option play last week…

His lies are no worse than BLS in their birth/death model… or the Fed in their measure of inflation.

I’m with you I stick to strictly futures /ES is putting my kids through college.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt until the funding secured fiasco, from that point on, I’ve considered him more of a liar.

Not anymore . It’s evolved past line markers now . My auto steer can follow without any lines ! It’s a continuously learning AI , every few weeks it’s updated with new parameters !

I’m looking at upgrading to the Model 3. Called my insurance to get a quote, they only had one trim level, Performance. So if you get a quote, make sure they are quoting the right trim level. They have to manually add the MSRP in to get a quote. From the performance to standard plus was a difference of $500 a year. Just an FYI if any of you are on the fence and shopping insurance quotes

That’s a fairly big difference in price ($40+/mo)

Absolutely. They are pricing it different. Most insurance companies don’t even have trim levels for the car, so if anyone wants one specify the MSRP. Since that’s heavily what insurance is based off of for claims

Will be interested on how they go about giving you a refund… I would imagine they would do everything possible to dissuade you from doing it.

If you were able to successfully return the car wouldn’t they have to sell it as a used car? Not sure how they will ever make a profit based on this business model.

Nah…they’ll add it to the Robo-taxi fleet for next year :joy:

I should call my insurance company just to see… FWIW, my $70k (MSRP) diesel truck is cheaper to insure than my $24k (MSRP) car - both bought new… Always seems to have been this way, even when the car was older than the truck.

Hard to tell what goes into determining insurance costs. My only issue with using Tesla is that I have a guaranteed renewable policy and get great rates because I have been with them since I was teenager.

Cool beans… Not so sure I would trust it up here on the grave, mountain, snow covered roads that hard enough for a human to tell where the road starts and ends… The cliff edge is not the place to figure that out either.

SUV/Trucks are usually cheaper because in an accident it’s less likely to be totaled out

Not surprising…less chance of a major/total loss or catastrophic loss in a truck vs a car.

Edit: caught this comment on the way down the thread and didn’t notice @Haufinator basically said the same thing. Call me the parrot.

Actually my insurance company told me it was injuries related - If you think about it, $24k for a totaled car or $24k in fixing my truck (or $70k if it was totaled) are not anything compared to the $200k per person and $1M injury limits I have on the policy…

At delivery, they promised me a due bill for repairs. After four days and no response, despite numerous texts and phone calls, I had no choice but to return the vehicle.

The car is pretty good, but their customer service and general competence when it comes to running a business is awful.

Now who knows how long it’ll take to get our money back.

That is super annoying.
