Mercedes lease pull-ahead question

I’ve read in the past that Mercedes did up to a 6 month pull-ahead for leases, is 3 months just the standard maximum now or has anyone seen anything longer in recent times?

I’m curious if maybe they will sweeten the pot in August or September up to a 6 month pull-ahead specifically to get people into EVs before the credit goes away to clear out the inventory.

My lease is up end of March so I would for sure be interested to get into a new lease early and capture the EV credits.

Please remember that lease loyalty, pull ahead, and lease payment waivers are all very different.

Loyalty typically looks at whether your lease is about to expire; and would give you an incentive to get a new lease. Logically you may infer getting a new lease means getting rid of your old lease. But that doesn’t actually have to happen. Loyalty could mean you ending up with 2 overlapping leases.

Lease pull ahead is kind of a farce. Any closed end lease can be closed early regardless of loyalty or not.

What you are probably caring about is how many payments will MBFS waive if you end a lease early. For July 2025 incentives, MBFS will waive 3 payments.

So, if you have 6 months remaining on your current Benz lease and really really really want out of it, they’ll waive 3 payments and you’ll have 3 payments of cost rolled into your new lease.

Or, if you’re willing to run 2 leases in parallel, your don’t actually have to waive any of your current payments or roll any un-waived payments. Of course, if you don’t actually need 2 cars, then you end up wasting money on 6 payments to take a lease to maturity.

There is one other gotcha scenario that you cannot do (you know LH people have asked for this)… some people try to get 3 months of credit applied to their current lease, and then turn the vehicle in 3 months after the new car lease starts. Basically drive that first car “for free” for 3 months. Unfortunately the rule is that if you claim any lease payment waiver, you must also ground the lease at that time.

question: assuming if you get out of the lease–selling to a third party–loyalty is thrown out the window?

Loyalty incentives are tied to VIN. They’ll look up in their MBFS system to see if you have an expiring car registered to you in the eligible timeframe.

If you’re going to claim loyalty without grounding your lease, it makes sense to confirm from the F&I person when their loyalty incentive will be locked in- then you can private sale after that.

I guess loyalty goes out 8 more months haha. Crazy.

Thank you! I just figured i wouldnt if im leasing and then 5 months later selling it to a 3rd part vendor.

hello, may I ask a relevant question on this? Does one pay lease still qualify for a pull ahead? Let’s say if I have a 24 month one pay lease expiring in 6 months. Can I get “refund“ for the 24/5 of the one-pay payment and applied it as credit in next lease?

And does pull ahead the same for everyone (I don’t get any email about it), or it needs some kind of pre-approval/by invitation only?

Thanks!

the dealer can look it up with your VIN if you qualify. I answered your first question in the superthread. They will send you a check for the refund minus excess wear and tear + milage overage. MBFS is very lenient on wear and tear btw.
