Mercedes G63 lease feedback

Why not go for 15k miles and pay for any overages? My $0.02.

I would finance it via a Credit Union. We’ve gotten 4.5% on it and take the tax deductions

Also, just make sure she doesn’t have employees asking for raises at work, it really does happen :joy:. Draws too much attention.

That was a problem with my broker. He doesn’t make much money from the office since the market has dried up but he makes it on his flips. Which means it looks bad when the secretary doesn’t get paid all that much lol.

I still don’t understand why you’re not better off buying. If it’s for her business use, you can take accelerated depreciation or bonus depreciation that should be more beneficial than deducting lease payments. You don’t have to pay the high interest cost of a lease. And you avoid the acq fee and penalty for buying out the lease at the end? What am I missing?

Residual is 50% at 15k

35% at 25k.

My intent is to buy and keep or sell to capture equity.

Payment difference is 24k over 48 months
Mileage excess + residual diff is 40k.

@WeakestLink i may be wrong but I don’t have to worry about income recapture when I sell and lose some of the tax benefits. With lease she can expense the full business portion each month. I don’t get the huge immediate benefit but it’s there over 48 months and don’t have pay a lump tax payment upon selling.

In my calculations I come out ahead on tax benefit this way assuming I sell it at same price at X time.

So again I’m new to the lease game but is this correct?

Looking at the math the lease is about $180,000 to drive for 48 months, you will pay $20,000 for excess miles and then there’s still a buy out at the end of $70,000?

So you are banking on the G63 to be worth say $120,000 and pocket the $50,000 equity? That may be all well and good but the $200,000 you spent is gone?

I guess there’s a reason why I don’t know anybody on the G forum who has leased.

Lots of factors including length of loan and rate, and depreciation depends on how long you keep. I agree four years ownership and 80,000 miles it will depreciate a good amount.

Sounds like you got it figured out! Post pics once you take delivery.
