Mercedes Benz EQS Lease Superthread - 2

This is pretty neat, is the data publicly available?

Well, my i4 eDrive 35 was supposed to have a 230 mile range when new. But lately as the SOC drops, the glide path of range it implies I can go would be about 160 miles.

The problem is at a claimed 100% SOC, it still estimates over 200 miles. There simply isn’t a good way a normal auto-owner-loser would ever be able to prove the kWh in the battery and range obtained. Most homeowners and drivers aren’t electrical engineers. Plebes won’t have the time to do some controlled tests to assess energy inflow/outflow and duration travelled.

@JSmith and @mborelse The latest Experian data is here:

Yes, worn rear tires are common before lease return. Check your lease agreement for minimum tread depth and consider budget-friendly options if no specific brand is required.

Oh what? They replaced the center armrest entirely? That’s sounds like the service department is milking the work order lol.

Did they ask you if you wanted to replace the thing before they did it? Did they tell you the cost estimate (parts + labor) they were going to bill to you before they swapped the center arm rest?

Unfortunately your claim “Anything wrong from normal use should be covered by warranty in my opinion.” is typically untrue. If a car has 100 miles, and develops a problem from normal use, that is usually a warranty item because the car simply hasn’t had enough time to be used.

Once you get to about 500 miles or more (especially if there’s food or toddler gunk involved), normal use damaging a part is typically going to be charged back to the user. Of course there are grey zones and exceptions.

Like if your seat belt tensioner stops working through normal use, that’s 100% a warranty repair unless they find 10,000 jammed Cherios in there.

If your rear seat gets deformed/ripped, that’s almost always going to be a customer cost even if it’s a fairly new car.

But if the fancy MBUX touch screen gets a crack in it, they’re going to initially say the operator did the abuse and charge the customer. But then if corporate/engineering notices a bunch of cracks developing often… then some engineer could determine a batch of units had a flaw in the material/quality of the part. This rarely happens IMO.

Yep. Actually, in my last visited which is unrelated to the repair, I mentioned to them the cup holder can’t open and they did a quick check and said likely the whole cup holder part needs to be replaced. And they ordered the parts before my visit today for the repair/replacement.

Cost estimation is OK as they explain that they thought it was under warranty so there was no cost to me in my first visit. Then they found the foods after opening the cup holder (As you mentioned, this “technically” is not under warranty). And I can choose if I want to move forward before they did the replacement.

Any EQS SUV lease deals available right now or has things slowed down? I remember I was seeing many more few months back.

Did anyone else’s CarPlay suddenly die after the most recent software update? I cant get my EQE to connect to any of our phones with CarPlay. Bluetooth works but CarPlay is dead. I’ve tried every simple off/on, enable/disable, and add/delete that I can think of to troubleshoot.

Same issue as this guy: Apple CarPlay Won’t Start - MBWorld.org Forums

And this guy:

Also, separately — does anyone else’s side view mirror buttons never work correctly? I have to get out and manually adjust since the buttons seldom work, and when they do, they move the mirrors the wrong direction. These issues are just silly.

Yeah the Carplay in the EQS is super flakes. The BMW is rock solid, so it’s not the phone… it’s the MBUX.

The MB World thread fix works for me, holding that power button (the MBUX power, not the car power) until it reboots the MBUX tends to clear it up. One of the USB-C plugs should also let you do a wired carplay.

I have a silly question – what/where is the MBUX power button?

Depending on when you got your latest updates, there has been more updates recently as I just got back our EQE for the 4th time since we purchase it on 4/1 and the work order mentioned more updates were applied.

I’m now way past 30 days of out of service.

Same with Android Auto. Of course, shop foreman at Encino MBZ blamed driver error, Google, Samsung and, I think, Mother Teresa. Never their fault!

You’d figure it out in no time if your screen went dark and MBUX MIA in the middle of freeway in an unfamiliar area. Ask me how I know

I can’t believe how many reports of problems w/ EQS there are, am I just the luckiest guy for not having a single issue (so far)?

Well, my side sensors have some phantom sensing sometimes while parking, but that’s not anything major.

Also, does anyone else have their car “stink” a bit the day after using the fragrance, like a fragrance leak? Almost like a too sweet flower.

Yes, except I don’t have the fragrance, so… :smirk:

Simple, as in most car forum, there’s no reason to post if the car is doing just fine.

Anyone seeing a eqs or eqe SUV deal in fl? Thnx

Ours has been pretty reliable too. Never put the fragrance in.

I believe it’s hard to find any EQS in $400/mo range nationwide
