Mercedes Benz EQS Lease Superthread - 2

Will they last for 8 months and pass the end of lease inspection?

I sure hope so. I’m looking at probably 7000 miles max between now and then

Maybe your battery needs to be recalibrated…? There are many videos on YouTube that tells you how. If that doesn’t fix anything then there probably is a serious issue

With BEVs, the term often used is “within spec.” I was told 30% range loss is “normal” and within tolerances. But I guess if it goes to 31% who knows?

Anyway, buying a used BEV is like getting sushi out of some dude’s trunk. Don’t do it. Once you waste the money, everyone will blame you for your bad choices, behaviors, and actions… they won’t blame the person selling the junk or the spoiled sushi. These Fisher Price appliances barely cut the mustard when they’re brand new. You’d have to be off-your-rocker stupid to buy them used.

Or do what @z0lt3c does, cycle a new BEV every 6 months.

What happens if dealer applies a rebate that I’m not qualified for?

I asked my dealer for loyalty rebate I saw on MB website, they accepted it and wrote up a contract with $5k + $7500 in rebate section of the contract for 2024 EQS 450. What will happen once MB finance realizes this rebate is invalid?

Will they take the car back? I’m supposed to pick it up tomorrow. Should I not?

based on info from this forum, they PROBABLY will ask you to re-sign contract and eat the loss.

They’ll ask you for proof when signing. Why did you ask for loyalty if you don’t qualify?

I thought I had qualified. I had requested it for all the dealers I was working with.

I signed with a dealer. Then I had another dealer call me trying to match it but said loyialty won’t apply and went through the fine print.

The dealer I signed with just read it at surface level like I did.

Lol look at this data from Experian.

The average EQS lease payment is almost $1,200. So for every @djrabbi and @GOAT , there are 10 people paying $2k a month for their EQS.

RIP anyone with a loan out on their EQS.

That’s why this is LeaseHackr here! :joy:

Didn’t know Experian gives out that stat.

My EQS’s rear center cup holder can’t be open after getting the car for a few months. Taking to dealer to repair and they mentioned that they found some food debris in the cup holder which block its opening. As a result, they said it is considered as an user related damage and not covered by warranty.

Does anyone have similar experience? It sounds unreasonable to me as I think it is normal that sometimes food may go into it. It is a more “by chance” rather than a “damage” and should be covered by warranty.

That’s a rough one. Did they tell you how many hours (their billed labor op) it took for them to identify this? And did you have the vehicle in for other non-related service?

I think 99% of the time if the labor op was say 0.1 hours for this thing and they already had your car in for recall or other service, you can just ask them to do a goodwill adjustment to not charge you. It’s not the type of noise that is worthwhile for them to nickel and dime you… and MB-USA should see it the same way.

But, if you were making a giant stink about it and took your car in for only this particular work, I can see them charging you.

That’s one of the reasons for the visit/repair (another repair under warranty is finished at the same day). They didn’t mention labor cost and just said it is not under warranty and will need to charge me a few hundred for the repair.

I see your point that they can decide if this is under warranty for this situation, especially if this is the primary repare they performed. I was thinking that foods in cup holder are unavoidable with regular use and should be covered. Then is there anything I can negotiate? Does it sound reasonable to ask some discount for the cost?

I don’t understand how food can jam up the rear seat cupholder lol. Was there something in the “pen holder” and they had to disassemble the entire center arm rest?

If it’s “food” it’d be like a 0.1 hour job and $20. They should be writing that off as goodwill.

That’s real bad. Probably a bad battery.

However batteries are warranties to provide X% capacity at Y years. If you had bought used you would probably get a free replacement. Plenty of teslas out there the 100-200k miles with 70-95% original battery capacity.

My EQS at 15k miles still regularly getting 400+ per charge on the less efficient 21" AMG wheels.

Is there any way to check the battery health of an EQS?

I don’t think so… I think it’s just kind of a crapshoot to look at your 100% charged battery and its estimated miles.

Surely there’s some way to check, since Mercedes warranty is 10 year/155k miles guaranteed to be at 70%. Anything lower, they cover the repair bill, so maybe it’s a digital computer check? The data must be there somewhere.

I can’t believe the range on my EQS580 SUV, still getting 350 miles on 7500lbs. Nuts!

Also, where’d you get the Experian data from? I feel bad for all those Ariya loans lol.

I agree with you that they “disassemble the entire center arm rest” as it can’t open and found there are some foods inside which blocked its opening. And they finally replace the whole part. The thing I didn’t understand is why it is not covered by warranty because there is no accident or damage. Anything wrong from normal use should be covered by warranty in my opinion.

Any way they still considered it as not covered by warranty and gave me some discount as a solution, and I accepted.
